For those watching the Florida-Florida State matchup today, they just showed a shot of ex All-American Florida Gator Matt LaPorta in the seats watching the game and waving to the cameras. LaPorta was taken #7 overall in the 2007 MLB draft. His career in the majors was short with his last game in 2012. Although playing different positions, I could not help but think of a Ragin' Cajun that was taken in that same draft (after the College Station regional). Except that Ragin' Cajun was taken much lower ... with the 101st overall pick (3rd round). That Ragin' Cajun is one of the best catchers in Major League Baseball.
