Default UL pitching recuit's Nick Lee and Hogan Harris

    NICK LEE

School: South Beauregard HS (La.) Year: Senior Position: RHP Age: 18 DOB: 2/10/1997 Bats: R Throws: R Height: 6'4" Weight: 195 lb.
    Commitment: Louisiana-Lafayette

    Scouting grades: Fastball: 60 | Curveball: 45 | Changeup: 45 | Control: 50 | Overall: 45
Lee and St. Thomas More High (Lafayette) left-hander Hogan Harris were supposed to be the top two high school prospects in Louisiana this year, but Harris' velocity dropped precipitously and Lee's also declined under a heavy workload. Harris now seems certain to attend Louisiana-Lafayette, and Lee could join him there if he doesn't get picked high enough to sign.

After pitching at 91-95 mph on the showcase circuit last summer, Lee has operated with an 88-91 mph fastball for much of the spring. He still reaches 94 mph on occasion, and his fastball can break bats with its running, sinking action. His projectable frame hints at more and more consistent velocity in the future if he isn't overworked.

Lee lacks a reliable second pitch. He flashes an average curveball but gets under or around it too often, and he doesn't trust his changeup. There are a lot of moving parts and effort in his delivery, creating concerns about his ability to stay healthy and command his offerings.

Looks to me that our %'s are getting higher and higher on having these 2 pitchers with us next year. Just imagine what the pitching staff will look like!!!!! 😳😳🙌 wow

That number 168 is Lee's prospect rank

Overpitched.....? High School ball to Summer ball.....arms are dead tired

Great! Get them on campus and Tony will fix them quickly.

On paper it appears that Lee and Harris have the physical talent to possibly be very successful at the NCAA level. It will be interesting to see if they have the "mental make up" of the 4 current freshmen that have taken the Cajuns to the Super regionals. If so, look out. If not, we are still in pretty good shape with the current staff.

Harris threw a no no in the playoffs last month. He was on back 2 back state champs. He will be fine.

Harris pitched more recently than he did during the regular season. He was limited during the season and his evaluations dropped. But any lefthander that can throw 92-93 will definitely get serious looks in the draft. The question for Lee, Harris and Sensley will be how much over the slot money any of them will be offered.
