Do I smell corndogs??
Brian,
If you're Coach Robe, who do you throw in the opening game of the super? We know we will face Lange, who is one of, if not the best pitcher in the country. I love Leger, but do you save him for game 2?
Made it by for bottom of 9th. 50-75 fans and kids out on field then. Last pitch was cool, people got out of chairs and stood up to watch strike 3.
Very nice job UL, all the way around. Even when I got in my truck, Jay was addressing RCAF members to look for email regarding super regional tickets. Not complaining, sounds like they have a plan. At least much better than UH did, that was a cluster mess for Cougar fans.
Cajuns are 6-0 all-time in Houston baseball regionals (1999 and 2015 regional champions).
3-0 vs. Houston
2-0 vs. Rice
1-0 vs. Texas
… with a couple of those games in '99 being beat downs (Texas and Houston).
Brian
It's going to be a tough call. Runs will be at a premium against LSU, especially against Lange, and I would hate to see Leger go out and pitch a gem only to lose a close game. However, I would agree with you that it would be tough to mess with the normal rotation. If the Cajuns can jump on Lange early as some other teams have done, he is beatable.
Most watched Super Regional to come...
Regardless of what happens this weekend, it's been one hell of a ride. We're gonna lose BT this year, but we have 4 true freshmen studs and more coming in. Future is bright for these guys. Now let's go to Baton Rouge and kick some tiger assssssssss
Gonna be tough but I seem to remember having to travel to South Carolina and face a #1 in a tough environ........... I think this group is just crazy enough to go and do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I believe.........no, I know that UL is one of the best programs in the country and has been for some time, especially considering the lack of funding that we have compared to the big conferences. However, the road to elite status goes through Baton Rouge. UL has been on the cusp for years, but hasn't been able to turn the corner. At some point, UL will have to beat LSU in their place to get the national recognition that Robe and the program truly deserve. Is this the year? I sure hope so.
Also, this was the best pitching and defensive performance I've seen all year from our guys this weekend.
