It started on RP, I remember teaching students and players in 2002.

Eventually the "I Love UL" hand sign made it to the top and has trickled back down ever since.

The whole name thing wont change until the university decides to do something about it. I'm not complaining, just stating that's what needs to happen. So I wont be happy with seeing the scoreboard this weekend as UL-L or UL-Laf but it is what it is. I just hope the administration has a plan set or in motion for the big picture to be "The University of Louisiana".

We are going to get "Lafayette" and "ULL" alot this week and this weekend. It would be nice if those that respected us and loved us chose not to go that route. I'm not bashing anyone. I'm just stating my opinion.

You are right but there is nothing we can currently do about it so its a moot point to go out and fight it rather than concentrating on what is at stake. If we win, LSU and the whole Tiger Train across this state will certainly not be willing to give us our name due and if we lose, it will just be another beatdown of an instate subordinate. Fight it if you want but they are not going to change their view of us and what they refer to us by. It just isn't going to happen.

I think its not as big an issue with today's students and athletes like it is with the older generation who has fought with this for years.

Correct, I think over generations it'll change. It may take 40 more years!!!
