I did not like last years approach to the season, the team was viewed as experienced and I distinctly remember Coach Hud emphasizing that they placed a high priority on not getting anyone hurt, paraphrasing of course. I think this lead to a false sense of superiority and it failed miserably when LTUR came to town. Thankfully, they righted the ship quickly and we had a successful season. I agree in that the past 4 years, we've been slow out the gate, not looking very sharp, but beating fcs teams. Things can change, Coach Hud is still learning as a head coach, and improving. I really think we will be better defensively with the depth we now have and the coaching changes that were made, we have a shot at a big win. I wouldn't be totally shocked that we could win this type game so much as surprised we could do it so early in the season.

Perhaps not being picked to win it all in the Sun Belt Conference is a good thing for the UL football team.
The weight isn't on the shoulders of the University of Louisiana's football team as it was a year ago, when the Ragin' Cajuns were the prohibitive favorites to win the Sun Belt Conference.

caught the tail end of RB on Scott's show- did I hear him correctly that CJ has been dismissed?
Yes. Breaking team rules.
The Louisiana football team's preseason practice starts in a little less than two weeks, but don't expect coach Mark Hudspeth to be quick about making a decision about his starting quarterback.
In fact, don't expect him to make a decision at all...
In Hud we trust...but it's going to get out. In this tweet/post world, someone will want to be the "first to report."
I think it has to be Haack as the starter.
