I would be surprised if we won, given past history and Kentucky is the first game. We have no "easy" warm up game this year. If our defense is well conditioned we can run man to man a lot more. Lot of unknowns for me, but you guys that attended the Spring game probably could alleviate some of my fears.
I have no idea how well matched we'll be for Kentucky. Historically, they aren't a team we cannot beat. But, they've started improving their focus on football. Hud has taken us into opening season contests against good to great teams... and not had us prepared for them. I'm extremely hopeful that this is one of his personal challenges and that he did a lot of thinking about what it actually takes to beat a good to great team. I feel he placed way too much stock in perfect execution of simplicity, great conditioning, and supreme hype. It may be time to be exceptionally creative offensively... and fundamentally normal defensively... and see how that goes.
