Lexie Elkins, who set a new single-season school home run record with 32, was named a first team All-American for the first time in her career. Career-high production by Shellie Landry resulted in her_being placed on the second team as an at large selection.

Lexie Elkins now has 56 home runs in two years. The new record by Lauren Chamberlain set this year with a total of 95 for her career putting Lexie 39 behind the all time NCAA home run record and 27 behind Danyelle Gomez' UL record of 83. It would have been interesting to see if Lexie had been here as a freshman as she hit ZERO home runs at Texas Tech before transferring.

Well, I guess there's a possibility she could hit 40 and surpass Chamberlain. At least it will be fun to watch her attempt to do so.
