Any Recruiting News?

_ That's any recruiting class. Hence the reason that some dont put much stock into them. Its basically looking at guys on paper and projecting/wishing for the best. On paper, the JUCO's were good enough to be offered by BCS teams so on paper, those guys are more promising on field talents than before.

Ok, so you are making my point. Every recruiting class comes with concerns to one degree or another. The fact that we, to this point, did not directly address some positions as much as we would have liked has not been proven wrong. Again, I am also optimistic but the description would certainly be cautious.

I think the Gibson walk-on appears to be another solid commitment. Is this now 15?

The 2010 recruiting class currently includes 14 public scholarship recruits. Gibson is a walk-on - at least for now.

He will have an opportunity to earn a scholarship and could be the program's next walk-on success story, joining recent all-conference players such as Chris Fisher, Brad Bustle and Spencer Ortego.

JP, do you think that he would be considered a little differently due to the fact that he was on scholarship at a larger school and left due to a coaching change rather than being a guy that didn't get any offers? To me, he seems like a guy who is more talented than your average walk-on and the circumstances are a little out of the ordinary.

Yes, I do. It seems as if some coaches were scared off by his old knee injury and his sitting out last season. Some likely just lost track of him. Plus, he was a late find after Duke pulled its offer at midseason. In some ways, he's an unknown commodity again until getting back on the practice field. He has to shake off some rust but could be a huge payoff. I forgot to add Luke Aubrey to that walk-on list.
