Joshua had to go out & compete with 200 other guys for oseene scholarship opening. And anyone who knows the scoop on Mississippi Junior colleges, knows it's harder for an out of state offensive lineman to receive a scholarship to a Mississippi Junior college than it is to get one from a division one program. He earned this scholarship opportunity by beating out a lot of other good football players on the field. I was there that day. I know what happened, & how it happened. I also saw first hand the other guys on the team come up to him & tell him how glad they'd be to have him play on their team.

So the question about living up to his potential is already answered in my mind. My son has lived up to his potential almost every single dayof his life since he's been a teenager. No one has been harder on him than me, and no one has been as critical of his performances as I have. And no one knows, & understands him more than I do. I watched him take a 16 pound shot that he never laid eyes on in his life until last February, and take that shot without any coaching last season except for the Zennon kid from VC. And I watched him through hard work & dedication go from nothing to the state meet finals. He had the second best throw in that event, but fouled when put his foot on top of the board after his throw had already landed.

And I watched him set his personal best of 360 pounds on the bench press the other day improving some 70 pounds over his high mark from last year. You don't do those kinds of things if you're not already living up to your potential. I also watched him retake the ACT test of his own valition. And improve his qualifying score which was already high enough to get into just about any university in the country because he wanted to be the best STUDENT athlete he could be. I didn't ask or urge him to do this. He did it on his own without any advice from anyone.

Barring injury, in two years my son will be one of the most coveted linemen in the United States. And I know this. I don't know it because some A hole wannabe who runs a scouting site says so. I know it because I know my son. And I know he's plenty p!$$ed off about the way he was looked at because of the class of football his high school played. And I know he's got @$$ whipping on his mind. And I know how determined he is. And I know that his critics while not being excited about him going out to hurt his competitors & humiliating them , can't point out a single time when he was ever dominated, or humiliated by any three, much less one, or two other men the whole time he played in high school.
You can't help yourself can you....everyone on this thread congratulated your son but you have to blow it up...good luck to your son

And I thanked them. That doesn't mean the whole recruiting process isn't a complete pile of pig dung. With a bunch of money, much of which is taxpayer subsidized going to places it shouldn't be going. To assist people who are going to take their gift of a college education, & flush it down the toilet. Now prove me where history shows me wrong on this point. I' simply making the point that my son is earning every single thing he gets....TWICE. You don't have to like it. But it's a fact all the same.

It sounds like you have a determined toung man on your hands.

I sure hope all of your antics don't hurt your son's chances of having a successful collegiate football career.

If stating one's opinion on a college message board is considered antics worth having your family members punished by the powers that be, then just about every poster on this board would have all of their families shot by now. Talk about my drama? How about you read what you just posted & think how intelligent it sounded. I didn't post what I posted to get into a name calling contest. I merely stated what my son has done to EARN his way into school. And has to continued to do to EARN his way into school. And I emphasized the point that he has achieved, & is in the process of achieving his full potential every day of his life, whether a couple of simpletons who pretend to be college talent experts understand this or not is irrelevant to me. Time will tell the rest of the story. So I'm not concerned about my "antics" at all.

It really seems like you simply have an axe to grind against a particular person, and if thats warranted, then so be it. But you are coming across as the parent of a kid who has had to do things WAY above and beyond what anyone else has ever done. I get it that your son hasnt had the typical process as far as taking his game to the college level, but there are MANY kids that fight this battle every year. Your son achieved a scholarship, and kudos to him for that. Many others dont, and still fight the fight as a walk-on.

I am truly happy for your son that his hard work has paid off, and I hope that it leads to bigger and better things for him going forward. I just dont understand the need to say things like that he will be the most highly coveted O-lineman, etc. That kind of thing takes away from his accomplishments to this point, in my opinion. Let him enjoy his time at Pearl River and see where it goes. I'm sure he is happy to have the opportunity, and probably doesnt need the pressure of being the top whatever a couple years from now.

Congrats to your son on his scholarship.

    Congrats to BWK Jr!

BWK, as you said this is your son's accomplishment. He put in all the work. He deserves the recognition for what he accomplished. And where he goes from here is all on him. So for his sake please take a step back, shut the **** up, and quit making everything about you.

    The BWK timeline.

Beginning of 1420 AM - 2011: BWK is a die hard Tigah fan. LSU is the best. Top donor of TAF.

2011-2014: Screw the Tigah's and Les Miles. He's a terrible coach.... The Ragin Cajun's are the best up & coming program in the country. UL is building one of the best offensive lines in all the land

2015-2017: Mark Hudspeth & recruiting services are crap and don't know anything. Playing offensive line @ Mississippi JC is tougher than getting offer to a Div 1 school

2017-? (Bonus projection): Miss St., NCAA, NFL, they're all corrupt. Lafayette Wildcatters & SIFL have some of the best athletes in the world.

I've always thought this and never posted it, but I can't help it: It is painfully obvious your loyalty to programs and opinions in general are a direct result of your sons talents. And it's pretty sad to witness.

Best of luck to your son.
