Jordan rebound nicely form the beginning of game. Not to second guess coach hell we won buy why did we let Martinez bat in the sixth with runners on 2 n 3rd.

Instead she strikes out and then Vincent flies out to right field which surely would have allowed runner to tag from third.

I don't second guess Lotief often but that was a poor decision in a one run game in my humble opinion.

Anyone else have any ideas as to why Walsh would not have bunted so that Cajuns would have had runners at third and second with 1 out? It seemed like a no brained to me. But I have never coached a softball team to NCAA WCWS eIther. So.....
My thought's exactly. I told my wife Walsh bunts here. Power or no power. You are down 1-0 so you get that run in any way you can to tie the game. The next inning we had the same situation, First and second and no outs and we bunt and got the run which gave us a chance to win....which they die. Small ball win games.

    Damn, that was stressful.

I know nothing of softball, but from the causal perspective, looked like the ladies were shaky early on, but pulled it together, despite Jordan not being as sharp as she can be and DJ making some uncharacteristic errors. It also seemed like the home plate ump was very inconsistent. I was perplexed when we didn't bunt the first time (4th inning I think) we had 1st and 2nd no outs and elected not to bunt. Maybe too many rodeos with Robe, but glad they did lay down the bunt the following inning. Good game, fun to watch!

After four Wallace had fifty more pitches than her counterpart. By the end of the eight, the Baylor pitcher had passed her up. Not sure if her count was lower than Baylor at the final put out. She is very strong in her competitor emotions.

Because there is no force and the Cajuns can score on an infield grounder.

It also depends on who you have at the plate bunting. In the 6th, it was Martinez.

I just re-watched the play where that wanna be umpire said runner on second base left early on Elkins' drive to center field.

It was too close to call even zoomed in in HD with slow motion.

If that ump could tell she left early from 15' away while also watching the ball being caught he is wasting his super human eye sight being a college softball umpire. Dude needs to be a Navy seal sniper or F-15 fighter pilot with those type of skills.

That umpire crew failed the entire game.

From the um0 behind the plate who still did not establish a consistent strike zone by the 7th inning to the umpire with bionic eyesight they have no business being on the diamond for post season play.

I also don't think Mike was confident that the screw ball was easy to drop a bunt. I think he preferred having the batters sell out on one side of the plate, commit to it, and take a cut.
