Jessica gave the Home Field Advantage to UL; calling the Cajun fans the best in the country.

Michele named Lexie Elkins as her Breakout Star.

    Nice, very nice!
That was good pub. Considering ESPN are all SEC hacks, I was pretty impressed. Not sure how the NCAA HR leader can be a "break out star" in the regional, but whatev.

Complete NCAA RPI rankings at selection. Bolded teams are those who made tourney. I indicated teams that received auto-bids for winning their conferences or conference tourneys. Main purpose is I wanted to see what at-larges were taken after GSU who had a final RPI of 42. Looks like Virginia Tech, Louisville, and Pitt.

    From the Baylor article:

"Baylor has only faced Louisiana-Lafayette in the NCAA Tournament; it was back in 2009 and the Bears beat the Ragin' Cajuns twice in Waco before advancing to the NCAA Super Regional round in Ann Arbor, Mich. Baylor traveled to Lafayette for the 2012 regional, but the Bears never faced the hosts before being eliminated by Stanford."

Short memories, or just choosing to forget the last two years? In case anyone didn't know, we're 5-0 against them over the last two years.

Probably an editing error. "Baylor has only faced Louisiana-Lafayette TWICE in the NCAA Tournament.

Meaning, in the tourney, we've only faced off twice.

Is anyone giving Miss St. a chance against Baylor? Seems to me, this game is kind of a toss-up.

Upon first read, I thought the same as you. But then I noticed that there was no mention of the series here in Lafayette this year. Just seems like a key detail to leave out. "Hey we played this team earlier in the year. We played them close in the first game, but got smoked in the second."

Is stadium and facilities still a factor? I remember when sometimes in the past a lesser team hosted because their bid was better and vice versa, great team didnt host

Saw an interview with their coach at the selection show, and he had the demeanor like, "well, we're going to go over there and try our best" like SwAC basketball teams say playing against Kentucky in the first round.

Like, well we didn't fare so well in one game, but we were neck and neck in another, so I think we can give them a run for their money.

Doesn't sound like he exudes confidence that they're just as talented as any team in the field to me.

    But I guess we'll see.

I was very impressed with their pitcher in the first game who held us to one hit while they had two. She followed that up with shutting out Oklahoma in Norman in their weekend series. She's very capable of putting up good numbers.

Heather Stearns. solid pitcher. She will likely be pitching against Miss St on Friday.

My guess is Streams pitches every inning. This tournament is spread out a little more than it usually is.

Their game is at 5:30. Their game with us (if we both win) wouldn't be until 3:30 the next day. The championship isn't until 6pm the next day. There's no noon turnaround or anything like that.

I said it before and I will say it again. We have to play well in all facets of the game . One game at a time . One pitch at a time !!
