For the second straight Friday the Louisiana baseball team came up on the short end of a pitcher's duel as the Cajuns were shutout 5-0 in the series opener against South Alabama at M.L. "Tigue" Moore Field.
Louisiana freshman pitcher Gunner Leger aced his last test of final exams week.
The only problem was that South Alabama had an ace of its own, and he finished with a better score in the Jaguars' 5-0 win Friday night at Moore Field....
UL knew what it was up against from the get-go Friday night, but still the Ragin' Cajuns could not crack South Alabama pitcher Kevin Hill.
Hill is a strike throwing machine. Watched to many first pitch strikes. If you watch one go by you only have two more. That's like saying two strikes and your out. I know, let's see what he's got before you swing.
There is a reason the dude is 9-0 and a sub 2 ERA and just pitched his 4th straight complete game
......and they win the series tonight after a 4-3 loss by the Cajuns. We just got beat tonight. Both teams had chances but they cashed in on theirs. South Al wins the weekend on two fronts and continues to fan the fire of Cajun dislike towards them.
They definitely win the best fan contest! The guy walking up and down the first base line flashing the southAL symbols was awesome...
