The Lady Cajuns will hit the road for their final non-conference game of the season this weekend. UL will be squaring off against Savannah State on Saturday at 1:00 pm CT.
•The game will mark the 1,000th time the Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns women's basketball program has played on the court. The program's all time record is 356-643 (.356)
•UL holds the all-time advantage over the Tigers at 5-2. Last season the Cajuns defeated SSU, 69-42, in Lafayette. The win was the third and final win for the Cajuns.
•UL is 4-7 against non-conference opponents this year. On the road, out of league play, the Cajuns are 1-2.
•The Cajuns are averaging 65.7 ppg and 37.5 rpg outside of Sun Belt play. Non-conference opponents are averaging 71.5 ppg and 42.7 rpg.
Lyndra Bell had a career night in the win over North Texas.
The junior forward scored 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting, including a 4-for-4 performance from the charity stripe.
It was the second time this season Bell has set a new career high.
It had been 21-straight conference games, dating back to the end of the 2007-08 season, since the Ragin' Cajuns had last won a Sun Belt game before the win over North Texas on Wednesday.
The previous league victory was a 66-44 win against Denver on Mar. 1, 2008. It was the final regular-season game that year.
Last season the Cajuns failed to capture a victory in the league (0-18).
In three of the Cajuns' five wins, four players have reached double figures.
Against Houston Baptist, Jasmine Barnes (20), Mercedes Johnson (11), Nicole Morris (11) and Alexis Green (23) reached double-digits.
Against Centenary, Barnes, Johnson, Josie West and Green all had 11 points.
In the league win over the Mean Green, Lyndra Bell and Barnes chipped in 18 points, Morris had 12 and Mercedes Johnson had 15 points.
