Lexie Elkins, National Player of the Year 2015.

Do you realize no one in America has as many home runs as Lexie Elkins? No one in the SEC. No one in the Pac 12. No one.

I wish we could recruit premium athletes.

Who beat the #1 team in America in OKC? Hint: it wasn't Oregon.

Who has been to 6 college world series, gone deep in 3 of them and played on championship Monday in one of them?

Who has gone to Baton Rouge THREE times and sent a highly ranked LSU team home?

    we always lose these?

    Shall I continue?

    Take a deep breath, everybody.
Brother you are So right! A friend of mine is a HUGE LSU fan and used to thank me every time UL would beat LSU during the season in baseball, because that meant LSU was going to Omaha and probably win a National Championship! Softball IT's your turn, Ladies, go earn it, take it, WIN IT!

Remind me what she did against premium competition this weekend? Oh yeah 0-7 with 1 walk. Yes, she is a great player. However, great pitching will will always win. My point has been that we have only been able to recruit 1 great pitcher like we faced this weekend and that was Brignac before she got hurt. So, we only had that elite pitcher for a couple of years. Other teams have a pitcher like this year in and year out.

Arizona thinks Christina Hamilton pitches alright. LSU thinks Jordan can get a few people out.

We got run ruled by Michigan last year I believe. Lost to almost every ranked team we played. That worked out okay. Let's geaux skull drag Monroe and see what happens.

Recruiting takes $$$ . We really want to believe that great athletes outside of Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi , are knocking down the doors to get to UL . Truth is, we have a hard enough time getting these girls to UL . Just my opinion .

Tank, IMO if we had big dollars for recruiting softball we should in fact send it in Texas, Louisiana, and Mississippi, South Alabama, and the Florida Panhandle. Lets face it we are not going to have much success in California, New England, or the East Coast regardless of success.

Still getting to WCWS does open doors you might not normally get regardless of dollars.

You're right on all accounts. We have one person saying we're not recruiting the big players that he apparently thinks we could. We have another trying to point out that we do get great players. The issue isn't that we're stupid. Tank points out that it takes money. You point out that even with money (and with WCWS appearances) UL cannot easily recruit the heralded HS softball players from the west coast, east coast/New England, and midwest... against some of the biggest schools in the country that also have good softball programs. We'd just screw up the feeder system we do have going for us. Some of the best softball players in the tri state area are on our radar. Do we pursue one that makes it clear that she's going to an SEC school? Do we recruit the snot out of one that UT (Texas) is swooning... from Texas? We aren't recruiting a dumb recruiting system. It may bother folks that the #1 or #2 program handled us... but it isn't a "we're too stupid to recruit the right players" argument.
