the only game I attended there was the LaTech USL game when Karl Malone was playing his Junior and last year. The place was rocking. Games must have been alot of fun there.

That may have been the last regular season home game played in Blackham before
the Cajuns moved to the Cajundome. In the final game we played Florida at home in the NIT.
Yes, games were fun in Blackham with some great battles against Tech.

    OK, OK........Can I play too??

I remember in the pre Bo Lamar days my Dad brought me to the games and I loved to watch "Elvin Ivory". At the time he was Mr. everything. He could handle the ball, rebound, was super fast and could shoot. We just don't seem to hear his name too much when we talk about the history in Blackham.

Tech had a lot of good players before Malone and the rivalry with USL was exceptional. Your Mike Green led teams vs. Bo Lamar & company in blackham were the best.

We had a very long thread on www.latechbbb.com a while back titled Deja Vu in the basketball forum and it eventually became a remembrance of Tech-USL basketball games. Lots and lots of great stories in there if you care to read it, from the Mike Green/Bo Lamar days to the night the lights went out in the Cajun Dome, etc. I recall Sidney Grider lighting us up in Ruston during the first half one year on what must have been like 10 for 10 on threes. Great games.

Tech is playing at a level this year where they may make memories for future generations. Unfortunately the injuries and other issues are preventing that from occurring here.

La Tech's season this year still seems a little too good to be true. I am still waiting for the ax to fall. The WAC is still probably a one trick pony this year or most years so having the Wac tourney once again at Nevada means that no matter how well the season goes, the cards will still be stacked against them to win the WAC tourney and make the big dance. They are of course a lock for the NIT but who cares.

Don't snear at the NIT possibility. You may have a chance to knock off some "TV" schools if you end up there. You have already beaten Houston on the road so it is possible. I would love for that to be a possibility for our program at this stage.
