We had a very long thread on www.latechbbb.com a while back titled Deja Vu in the basketball forum and it eventually became a remembrance of Tech-USL basketball games. Lots and lots of great stories in there if you care to read it, from the Mike Green/Bo Lamar days to the night the lights went out in the Cajun Dome, etc. I recall Sidney Grider lighting us up in Ruston during the first half one year on what must have been like 10 for 10 on threes. Great games.

La Tech's season this year still seems a little too good to be true. I am still waiting for the ax to fall. The WAC is still probably a one trick pony this year or most years so having the Wac tourney once again at Nevada means that no matter how well the season goes, the cards will still be stacked against them to win the WAC tourney and make the big dance. They are of course a lock for the NIT but who cares.
I use to let Marvin and on occassion Elvin borrow my car for dates before I went into the service and on to VietNam.
My 1st game in 1970 upon my return was at Lake Charles. Game sold out. Final got security to get message to Beryl that i was outside. He got me into the lockerroom and I sat on bench to watch game. There I met Bo and others, thus starting friendships with Bo, Big G and others.
As for the dunk. If Bo knew he was coming out at the end of a game and usually a fantiastic performance, he would eith dunk it behind his head or do a 360 dunk. Yes, we got a T, but oh what it did for the crowd.
Wow I remember.... While Pistol Pete is romantacized in these parts.. and for good reason despite the error of his choice in schools.... I dont know if i have ever seen a more exciting player than Bo... and i did see the Pistol on TV (couldnt help myself) and many times in person when he played for the Jazz...
Both were flashy.... but Bo just had a style about him... hell Pete did too... i dont know...lol
