You think Elkins and Landry will be on that list before they are done?

yes that is 406 homeruns between them, amazing. We have been lucky throughout the years to be able to watch some talented girls play. The rest of the Sunbelt, beside USA, can't understand how softball can be exciting to watch. They just hadn't had the tradition that the Cajuns program has. We have been fortunate to have had the coaches and players to build such a successful program before alot of the P5 schools even had teams. Even though most have teams now, we have been the most successful Mid-Major team in softball. Like in the polls today, we are the only school from the G5 in the Top 20. Here was the latest NFCA poll.

    https://nfca.org/index.php/component...2015&pdiv=div1

The Softball team is among the most successful of all Ragin' Cajun teams, having won nine regular season championships, nine conference tournament championships, and six appearances in the_Women's College World Series_(1993, 1995, 1996, 2003, 2008, and 2014). During the 2008 WCWS appearance the Ragin' Cajuns defeated #1 ranked Florida and eventually finished fifth. The Ragin' Cajun softball team has seen post-season play in 24 of the past 25 seasons. The Ragin' Cajuns have been Sun Belt Conference champions in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2014 along with 15 NCAA Regionals, 33 All-Americans, 24 consecutive winning seasons

With 20 homeruns in 37 games and still four weeks left in the regular season, plus postseason, Lexie Elkins might challenge the single-season record 30 home runs hit by Danyele Gomez in 2006. Through 35 games in 2006, Gomez had hit 17 home runs. Through 35 games Elkins had 19 homeruns, so Elkins is a little ahead of Gomez through 35 games.

Man that Oregon series is pivotal. We will need three outstanding games from our aces.

I know Hamilton has been getting hit lately but man she is so easy on the eyes I want her to get some starts. Hope she can return to 2014 form.

Elkins has 34 on her career and Landry has 35. Barring injury, both should make it in the 50+ club.

In the 80's and early 90's, hitting hadn't caught up to the pitching like it has today. I remember if you had a 2 run lead you were in a good position to win. The games were very low scoring. Hitting has come a long way. That's why you don't see anyone on the 50 homeruns list until 1999.

Different balls, different bats, different game.

Today, 4/13, our RPI is No.7

With the remaining teams we play and the SBC Tournament, it will probably hurt our RPI. I don't see how we can be a National seed without us beating Oregon, then I'm still not sure if we'll be in the Top 8. Just playing Oregon should help our RPI but playing Appalachian St will cancel that out. RPI gets complicated late in the season, at least for me. If we win the games we should, we will definitely host a Regional

    1 game Houston RPI 119
3 games App St RPI 179
    3 games Oregon RPI 5
    3 games ULM 73

Plus the SBC Tournament games. USA has an RPI of 30
