She is indeed. I have a ton of respect for teachers and in its purest form its an incredibly honorable profession.

You really have to be a special person to work that hard, deal with kids and parents, deal with ivory tower morons who've never stepped foot in a classroom as a teacher telling you what to do and get paid next to nothing to deal with all that.

As a husband of someone who wants to be one, I wish more cases like yours were drilled into her head.

No, we need as many good teachers as possible. My wife is a teacher and works very hard at her craft. The support and resources they receive almost make their job impossible but the good ones find a way to make a difference to as many kids as possible. I may always bring in more money and be perceived as being more successful, but let's be clear, she has more of an impact on this world than I ever will.

As a child of two very, very good educators, I would tell anyone and everyone to steer clear of this vocation. It aint what it use to be.

It sounds like your wife got into it for the right reasons but as soon as her pay grade gets high they will replace her with a cheaper right out of school young person.
