You might have just got caught in the line of fire. I was a bit offended by the Havoc board and how they were writing off the IceGators and how we should be kicked out of the league for not being B2 ready. I want to see hockey successful throughout the South including Huntsville Alabama. I don't under stand why your fans were being ugly.
The former teams in HSV have come & gone for a variety of different reasons. Like I said earlier, LA is the ONLY team in the league that opposing fans have had a hard time getting updates to the games. HSV fans aren't the only fans in the league that have had something to say about it. Something has been said on EVERY message board I read about the lack of B2 or any audio availability. The improvement of pointstreak has been at least a positive. If we take Danny at his word, then I'd suspect after January 4th, opposing fans won't have anything to complain about regarding being able to keep up with their team in LA.

You can take him for his word. Believe or not but those of us that live far away would also like to see the games. We have complained on here and our owner has answered. Blackham was built I believe in the late 50's and hasn't been used for major sporting events since the early 70's. Not much need for the internet for rodeos etc... Danny Smith is taking a long term approach and so far has kept his word about everything that is in his control. So I'm so sorry you can't watch your Havoc, Tornado, Channel Cats or whatever you are calling your team this year. In 3 days it will be fixed.

They are called the Huntsville Havoc, and have been for the last five years. I look forward to the B2 upgrade.

Come on guys...leave Janet alone...y'all know they only reason they get such a good attendance is because there is absolutely NOTHING else to do in Huntsville!! Hehe

I'm only joking Janet...I wish we put numbers like that up each home game!!

But seriously, what else is there to do? ;-)

Methinks that if the won/loss numbers were reversed, so would be the attendance numbers.

In all honesty, I think the attendance figures have everything to do with Keith Jeffries and our front office staff. They do a WONDERFUL job marketing the team. KJ runs a top-notch organization and the rest of the office staff do a fantastic job. They put on an entertaining show every night and the on-ice product is fun to watch as well.

There's lots of stuff to do in HSV. 2 shopping malls, lots of movie places, lots of nice places to eat out (depending on what you like), a local college has a Div I hockey program with a good following. Huntsville is also home to the Alabama Space & Rocket Center museum. Most Alabamians are either rabid BAMA fans or rabid AUBURN fans. Being that I am a transplant, I still get weird looks when I wear my orange & white and yell GO VOLS!! There's no real shortage of things to do here. Game night, though, I know EXACTLY where I will be!!!

As far as the win/loss records affecting the attendance, HSV has put up decent numbers every season so far. We have averaged 3,432 over the past 5 seasons (not including the current season). So, I'd say if we're winning or losing the fans are still coming out to support the team.
