In all honesty, I think the attendance figures have everything to do with Keith Jeffries and our front office staff. They do a WONDERFUL job marketing the team. KJ runs a top-notch organization and the rest of the office staff do a fantastic job. They put on an entertaining show every night and the on-ice product is fun to watch as well.
There's lots of stuff to do in HSV. 2 shopping malls, lots of movie places, lots of nice places to eat out (depending on what you like), a local college has a Div I hockey program with a good following. Huntsville is also home to the Alabama Space & Rocket Center museum. Most Alabamians are either rabid BAMA fans or rabid AUBURN fans. Being that I am a transplant, I still get weird looks when I wear my orange & white and yell GO VOLS!! There's no real shortage of things to do here. Game night, though, I know EXACTLY where I will be!!!
As far as the win/loss records affecting the attendance, HSV has put up decent numbers every season so far. We have averaged 3,432 over the past 5 seasons (not including the current season). So, I'd say if we're winning or losing the fans are still coming out to support the team.
