No, just guessing being from a military family, graduated early, sounds mature and said in the article..." I need to learn my plays and take care of the ball"... I think both sides are being pretty transparent and given his back ground doesn't sound like the prima Donna who would pout or cause trouble. I'm having the conversation, if you don't agree that's fine. Didn't know I needed to be invited into the conversation... Just get the feeling he isn't the type of kid to cause trouble.

You're right, he does sound mature and respectful.

But w/statements like "I don't want to get redshirted" or "I want to help. I want to be part of something great. So, whatever I have to do to stay away from (being redshirted), I’m gonna do it."

To me, that seems like he came here with 1 goal: to not redshirt. I don't think he left high school early to not see the field asap. I don't mean this in any negative way, but from only being able to make an opinion from a newspaper article, I could see him being frustrated if it doesn't happen.

I would hope every freshman has that mentality, I meant it sounds like he understands what it's gonna take to not redshirt. If he shows up in the fall missing blocking assignments, hitting the wrong hole and putting the ball on the ground he can only be frustrated with himself. He seems like a bright and mature enough kid to get that... All that being said, I don't think he redshirts. The early enrollment will prove very valuable to him.

---LOVED THIS PART OF THE WRITE UP----"HE SKIPPED THE DANCE FOR A DATE WITH THE BALL, AND SO HE CAN SHOW OFF HIS FOOTWORK IN THE FALL"-------We seem to either selling our UL too well or not getting the Lafayette part known---"UL the Cajuns? the truth? I never heard of them"----" I would make the trip to Mississippi all the time, pass Lafayette--I never knew the school was here" ---Now that is funny!!!!!

Don't pay attention to kid knowledge.

When I was a real young kid I rooted for LSU because they were on TV. I obviously didn't pay attention to commentators because the idea of where they were located was foreign to me.

I even saw their football stadium from the bridge and had no idea that was LSU.

There is no explaining what kids will latch on to or take notice of.

But you are right, all the Lafayette focused marketing efforts are a waste.

My brother went to ELLISWHO when I was ten. Became a diehard Tiger fan even at at USL until Bo Lamar happened. Never looked back, never cared one way or another about them except when we compete after Lamar.

Now you can understand my frustration with our abandonment of a quality basketball program.
