Whoever is in charge of marketing with the Surge is very clever. I'm not sure if Acadiana is experiencing Who Dat fever but the NOLA area and Central Gulf Coast is. Last night they showed on their screen a sweet looking Saints like hockey jersey the team will be wearing. They will be auctioned off after the game. I would love to have one. I tried to find a picture but couldn't. The terrible Surge logo is very small and well it looks like a Saints hockey jersey. That will put a few more rears in the stands.

BILOXI, MS – The Mississippi Surge, in conjunction with the United Way of South Mississippi, announced that the home game at 7:00 p.m. on January 6 against the Columbus Cottonmouths is the first-ever Surge Who Dat? Rally Night.

Fans who wear black and gold to the game will get $2 off the price of a ticket at the box office. The Surge will wear special black and gold “Who Dat?” jerseys that will be auctioned off following the game, with a portion of the proceeds benefitting the United Way of South Mississippi.

“The players are really excited to wear the black and gold,” said Surge defenseman Steve Weidlich. “It’s an honor, considering their record and the support for the Saints all across the Gulf Coast. Hopefully we can raise a lot of money for the United Way of South Mississippi.”

The game will also be “Wet Wednesday,” featuring $2 beer until the end of the first intermission, and the award-winning Cheer Zone Cheerleaders will perform during the game.

Maybe the IceGators will "steal" the idea from the Surge and you can have your own IceGators/Saints hockey jersey. Bet those would be the highest bids of the season!!!

Highest bids of the season on jerseys here in HSV are always for a great charitable cause. One of the biggest that we do is for the Melissa George Neonatal Memorial Fund. This fund was started by a former HSV player, Chris George, and his wife Amy. They had twin girls delivered very early. Both admitted to the NICU @ Huntsville Hospital. Ann Catherine survived, Melissa Suzanne did not.

I heard the same thing. We need to get it done before the playoffs. I'm not liking the way the Saints are tanking in the last couple of games.

i agree ms t that would be the highest bidding jerseys to date. they should consider doing something with lsu or the cajuns also. or maybe a diff style jersey..like baseball jerseys.

and they need to get something going where people can get their last name stitched on the jersey..i dont wanna take mine to a store and do it!

from what handy has told me they have a contract with a company in there shopping center to do the jerseys i havent had the time to bring my sons jersey to find out yet but they are suppose to beable to do exact replica naming and numbers as the players
