Look, Haack is the best passing QB to put the Cajun uniform on since Erik Riketa and JVC. Broadway was a three year starter, who wasn't going to get benched regardless of who was behind him. You love Jalen Nixon, we get it, but he will never start at QB here unless Haack gets hurt and Jordan Davis gets hurt. He is actually lucky to still be on the team and in school. His best option is to move to RB and replace Harris.

Brooks Haack will own every single season passing record in UL history after this season. He may very well hold many career records after starting two seasons.

Whoa… I love Haack, and from what I saw at the Spring game, as well as his minimal experience from the past two years, I think he is definitely our best option. That said… you are making quite a bold statement/prediction… and I hope you are correct. Will be fun to rewind to this conversation a year from now to see how you stack up to the prognostication skills of BWK

Every single season passing statistic that counts is in danger of falling.

    23 TDs
    224 completions
    2958 yards
    65.4% completion percentage
    153.6 QBR

While that statline would be record setting for a Cajun QB it's not even in the top 30 as a statline in the country. Today's college football 3000 yards in a season and 25 TDs is the benchmark.

I watched Van Cleave throw 6 interceptions at College Station. Haack doesn't have a massive hurdle to clear in that regard.

As for the records, I sure hope the 224 completions mark falls, maybe more than any others. That means we're using our playmakers on short to mid routes with the occasional deep ball thrown in, moving the chains and controlling the tempo. We can be really successful next year if that's the case.

You don't practice a play like that...maybe you should focus on the fact that he should have been sacked and somehow got away and put himself in a position to make the play that he did.....we are all going to find out whether he can handle it during multiple starts...or not

Their were several reasons he stuck with Broadway, the first being he was the only QB with real game experience. Second, because his playing the Tulane game with surgically repaired arm and led them to a victory. He won the right to lead this team with no QB ready to beat him out and it would have divided the locker room. At that point, there was no doubt who the leader of the team was after the bowl game.

I'm with T on this one. It's hard to take your opinion seriously when you said Nixon has Gautier capabilities.
