Is the official attendance! Not bad and about 1,000 more than usual. Besides winning what else could the organization do to keep people coming? Why not offer UL students 1.00 or .50 (Whatever the break price is) beer with their ID? When I was at UL I would have watched curling for cheap beer. Once you get them hooked they will keep coming.

See what i told you guys on gatorforum. If you read my last post it was a response to some ppl saying that it was a bad idea to have a game on xmas night. I pointed out the fact that xmas night is notoriously busy for the entertainment industy. This was proven last night by the Gators larger than average attendance. And if any of you past by a theater last night you saw what i was talking about. (Ambassador 10 was so busy, the parking lot was full and ppl were parking at that building next door)

Impressive attendance. The crowd was very evident in the broadcast.

Hopefully, there were a lot of people there last night who really haven't been to any games this season! If that's the case, maybe they will return because it was such a great game.

It was so great looking around the arena after we scored and seeing SO many people standing up doing the chomp!!

You are exactly right. Holiday games do draw surprisingly big crowds in professional sports. People are off of work, school, etc. and are looking for things to do. Their choices are limited. After a day at home with the family eating, etc., many look for an outing. The good news is that the people who showed up saw a great game. Hopefully there were some first timers in the crowd...who will come back...and tell their friends...and so on.

I would guess that giving away the free jerseys to the kids accounted for the increase in attendance. I think that every unfamiliar face I saw was accompanied by one or more kids. Good move, IceGator staff! The couple sitting next to me were at their 2nd game ever, the first being back in the old at the Cajun Dome. By the end of the game, they were really getting into it.

It seems the IceGators hit a homer run last night. A large crowd and an exciting game we managed to win!
