They like Plaisance and Hassani Gravett, so we will have to wait to see if they will contribute. Gravett had offers from Murray State, Cleveland State and a few others coming out of high school as the #17 ranked player in Georgia. All indications are that he is a solid mid-major prospect.

HS signee Corey Davis is not eligible yet and doesn't look like he is ready to contribute as a true freshman. JC Signee Tyrone Wooten shot less than 35% from the field this season after shooting over 43% as a freshman at Itawamba. He does not seem to be the shooter they thought he would be thus far in his development. I think that is a fair analysis.

It is also fair to say we had three players that were in the rotation that were either walk-ons or not offered D1 scholarships in Tre Williams and Davenport. Wronskoski is a low major signee and Rimmer played at a SWAC program before transferring to a JC. That is not great talent and all four were in the rotation this season.

The best talent was on the floor together at the end of the season in Washington, Stove, Long, Wright and Register. Walker and Shepard are solid off the bench. But that is not enough talent to elevate this program to the top of the SBC consistently. A good recruiting class with the two redshirts sitting out is needed.

Watching games in Blackham in the 60s and 70s was awesome, not because of the building or fans, but because we were damn good. And we were good because we had damn good talent. No one who saw those teams with Townsend and Alonza and Hill and Julien and Gay and Winkler and Turner Ebron and Ivory and Lamar and Rainey and Toney will ever confuse that talent with most of what we have today.

CajunT is correct. Our program's success and progress will be better when our recruiting is.

Watching the game, it seemed to me, that Evansville seemed so much more in control of the game. Setup, move the ball, take a good shot. We seem the be playing street ball half the time. I'm no expert but I can see the difference in the overall ball control and movement. They were very consistent in their actions. We seem to be more erratic.

    Very good observations.

I think that is what basketball looks like when a team actually runs an offense that creates shots, as opposed to going one-on-one almost every possession.

I thought that was the worst call of the night.

    YES!

Drop the floor as much as possible. Fill in with seats until we are right on top of the players. Chaibacks throughout. Spend whatever you have to for upgrades and renovations to concessions and restreooms and other logistical stuff, slap a couple of coats of Vermilion paint on and LET'S ROLL!

This would become the legendary place it once was, only better.

Can't you just see the "BACK IN BLACKham" theme to the first season there? It would be EPIC.

This is what Hud means when he says JUICE.

Good call. To take it further, the two teams were polar opposite of each other. One team was comprised of players relying on their athleticism to overcome their lack of basketball skills. The other team was comprised of basketball players with the skill set to pass, block out and shoot the ball effectively. The difference was obvious throughout the entire game. Not once did Evansville play out of control. It was a fun game to watch. It was also good to see a pure shooter on the floor. This time the team with the basketball skills beat the athletes.

I saw the same. I made the same comments towards the end of the game last night. It was a stark contrast. Couldn't exactly figure out what type of offense we were running.

They had amazingly good ball control, passing, and shooting.

    They played "lights out."

Agree with all the compliments to Evansville and the way they played the game. Fundamentally sound.

Cajuns have trouble with the zone because there is waaaayyy too much dribbling. That is not how you beat a zone defense. They played a tough high zone, never allowing any comfort for the Cajuns on offense. Everything was contested...
