Parrott Blog: Lee's post-game antics

_ No doubt he let his emotions get the best of him. I understand being frustrated considering the way we lost the game. Those four late turnovers caused us to basically give a game away. In such a situation, many of us would have let frustration get to us but that does not excuse the behavior. I do not understand why it occurred after a fairly typical question. Jay asked the same question on the radio and the answer was normal. In reality, the next two games are meaningless. It will be a blowout at Louisville while the Centenary game may allow some confidence to be regained prior to getting into conference play. Another issue to deal with is how to get the three injured guys back into the rotation without disruption once they become healthy. I would have said disrupting chemistry but I am not sure how much of that we have. By the way, I believe the current contract calls for an automatic extension if the Cajuns win the conference tournament. We all know how unlikely that is to occur. _

Josh, I applaud you for your candor in the matter considering you have to work with Lee to do your job and get us stories. I, however, feel that the behavior may be blown out of proportion. To me it was likely a sign that he is emotional about his team's play and I'd rather see some emotion like this from the team's leader and coach rather than simply accepting another terrible loss. To me, it shows that he cares about how his team is performing and I really don't have a problem with it. Granted, I wasn't there so I have nothing to base my point on but simple reading observation but I also understand that it was likely you that asked the question and are a little TO'd that he showed you up also. I'd be more embarassed if he had done this on the court a la Bobby Knight. JMO

_ Well, I'm not gonna get into the middle of this except to say that both of you are right about the number of calls. Robert did, in fact, make four calls. I saw his call log today. I'm not disputing your statement of two. I too have an iphone and know how that works.

You said you werent going to get in the middle of this yet you made it a point to tell Josh that there were 4 phone calls made from Roberts phone. Sounds like you want to get in the middle of it, because if you didnt you wouldnt of said anything about it.

_ You know what Josh, I'm going to end this by simply saying this to you. Had you bothered to return the four phone calls when Robert attempted to contact you,( not the two you previously mentioned), you would have gotten the explanation as to why Robert left the press conference and Gradingo wasn't made available to the press. Instead of doing so, you decided to speculate on your blog and Billy's show. This tells me that your actions are personal and not about getting the facts!

I simply suggested in my original post that you call Robert and clear the air. After all, is it not about getting the facts correct? Instead, you responded about your credentials and your awards because I dare suggest to the great Josh Parrott make a phone call. But in the end, it's all about you and your tremendous ego buddy. And this is why you have problems with getting comments from coaches at UL. Because its all about you and getting the story out first. Unlike many here, I do talk to coaches and I know what they think your style and approach. All your awards and credentials haven't helped you understand that being a smarta** hasn't helped you get the information you seek. In the end, I will keep my opinons to myself because I'm old enough to understand the you don't need credentials to make a phone call.

I can understand how some could see that I took this personal, but I was sure to take a few hours and get some rest before blogging.

This was more than just about me. It happened to three other media members, too. There was no story until he walked away and kicked a chair - not a normal thing at press conferences. The news outlets that were there reported on it and should have done so.

Some might not know that I have more freedom to interject opinion in my blog, but I do not believe I reacted in a personal manner. It was good to see some emotion, but there's no excuse for such action.
