I think it's always interesting to recall the numerous arguments on here on a variety of subjects. I just hope that if Haack does get the start, that he absolutely shines like a superstar... even if that means everyone that ever posted "#freeHaack" constantly reminds everyone else of their unlimited prognosticative wisdom.
It's kind of funny how QBs and fans end up in marriages and divorces. If a QB isn't near perfect... the backup QB certainly is... if you know what I mean.
For me, the reason I'm a little more inspired that I hear Haack is looking really sharp in practice is the fact that for our QB... I'm very interested... especially this coming year... to see the entire field utilized, mercilessly, by a sharp minded, sharp eyed, ball delivery machine. It's like some have already said... if a QB can spread the ball around... to numerous skill people... from an assortment of sets... from every eligible position... anywhere on the field... short / middle / deep ... it exponentially explodes the choices and success rate of the offense.
It doesn't just beat equal to lesser opponents (as we've been used to). But it has the ability to cripple a really good program's defense... and allow UL to overcome the hump of playing and beating equal to better programs. "That" is why we need to make very sure that whoever we choose at the QB helm... especially this year... is a true ball distributing expert. If that distribution requires he keep it and punish a defense for giving him too much open field... so be it. But the power of being truly dangerous offensively... is in the brain and arm of a great ball distributing master... when you have the weapons we have this coming year.
