You make some valid points. My only rebuttal would be the following:

1) I agree it will not help recruiting to play in this tournament, however, playing in this tournament cannot hurt the program recruiting wise. I do not think any potential recruit can look at this as a negative.

2) While I fully understand we lost to 3 SLC schools this year (which I 100% agree is not acceptable), playing the game and losing it is different than being nervous to even lace our shoes up. If we're now scared of losing to an SLC team, we've got bigger problems than playing in this tournament.

Appreciate your post Duggie85, and I hope the Cajun's win for fans like you who have stuck with them through the disappointments at times. I stated my opinion, so its time to move on.

Firstly, you are the one who started using "simple minded". I simply played on your own choice of words. But FWIW, i'm not saying YOU are simple minded, just that I think your conclusion about the CIT was not based on factors that I think are important to consider.

I haven't heard anyone claim this was some sort of major accomplishment. Maybe I missed a post or two. I think most of us can agree this is a far cry from the NCAA or NIT. But to NOT play cuz you're worried about losing??? That is NOT a way to approach sports my friend. You play to WIN, not to not lose.

So I think you're right - we have to agree to disagree on this issue. That is fine.

And no one is really talking about this but who's to say we can't go deep into or even win this tournament?

Long time supporter and season ticket holder...but had this been at home, I would have skipped.

With Incarnate Word being a private institution without a football team, I would bet that their basketball budget exceeds ours, and maybe by a long shot. I was told earlier today that Tom Benson is one of their benefactors. I don't know if that means they are a future SBC or not. I doubt it as the SLC seems a good place for them.

T-You are involved heavily in recruiting---Do you think a kid looking for the right school would be more impressed with any post season or none---I'll take the post season as I guess hardly any would want a school that didn't want to play MORE BALL!!! Really is there anything that this athletic dept does that you don't complain about???

I promise you Boomer the words, ' I saw you played in the CIT, and simply had to sign here. Post season is so important to me' won't be found, or anything approaching that.

This post season game is not a changer one way or the other. Seems to be worth a Christmas gift or two to our coach. Had no idea it was worth added money to him.
