Thread: Louisiana 2015 WBI National Champions

  1. Default UL vs. McNeese complex matchup of old friends

It's a relationship that began before any of the players that will compete in Saturday's 7 p.m. WBI West Region semifinal game between Garry Brodhead's UL Ragin' Cajuns and Brooks Donald-Williams' McNeese State Cowgirls at E.K. Long Gym were even born.

  3. Ragin' Cajuns Cajuns Advance in Thriller Over McNeese State, 63-58

Jaylyn Gordon hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 51.8 seconds remaining and the Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns advanced to the Women's Basketball Invitational semifinals after defeating in-state rival McNeese State, 63-58, before a capacity crowd on Saturday at Earl K. Long Gym.

Way to Poke the Pokes, Ladies! I for one got really nervous that UL could have led the entire game then have a lack luster production wise stretch and lose. Thanks for proving me wrong!

I prefer to view it as the Cowgirls playing very well to get back into it. I mean come on what is the fun in beating bad teams? Right? We beat a very competitive team that wanted to show Brodhead the mistake he made leaving them. LOL

This is still a huge rivalry to McNeese. They had more people travel to Lafayette than attend a regular girls game in LC. I can't help but believe that once we get some height in here next season that we will be a force to be reckoned with.

I NEVER thought I would say this, but give McNeese props. Those kids played their hearts out and their fans were loud. I must be getting really old...

------I think, as was stated on here, that the Cajun Nation was undergoing Sport Fatigue!!! Really with the MBB, Softball, Baseball, Track, FB scrimmage all going on, the WBB was not the ideal time or place for worn out watching and plenty spent voices !!! Hey but not a bad week end!!!
