The Louisiana IceGators(6-13-0) gave up a couple of late goals but managed to beat Pensacola 4-2, and send the Ice Flyers(8-9-2) to their sixth straight loss.

The first period was a showcase for great saves from both goaltenders. Louisiana goaltender, AJ Bucchino, stopped all eights shots faced in the period. Including a spectacular left leg pad save on the 'Flyers forward that was all alone in front of the net. The IceGators only goal of the first came off of a long feed down ice from Cam Lilley, who put the puck past both defenders and onto the stick of a streaking Paul McBrien, who had just exited the penalty box. McBrien finished off the breakaway by putting a backhander past the Ice Flyer's goalie. Louisiana hustled to pucks all over the ice and dominated time of possession in the offensive zone.

Louisiana's stout defense did not give up many good scoring opportunities. They only gave up seven shots on goal in the second and held the Ice Flyers offense off of the score sheet through two periods. The 'Gators capitalized on a couple of snapshots in front of the net; The first came off of a rebound on a wraparound attempt and the second was an open net, as the 'Flyers goalie could not locate the puck. Louisiana's suffocating defense frustrated the 'Flyers into a couple of brawls near the end of the period.

The third period was held scoreless until Pensacola scored their first goal of the night with 5:29 remaining, ruining Bucchino's chance for his first shutout of the season. Less than fifty seconds later the 'Flyers netted another goal, taking away all of the momentum that the 'Gators had the whole game. For fans, it began looking reminiscent of the previous game against Fayetteville where the IceGators gave up a multi-goal lead heading into the third period. Determined not to have another let down in back-to-back games, Daryl Moore scored an insurance goal to make the lead 4-2 with 3:43 left in regulation. The IceGators finished up their four-game home stand going 2-2-0.
