There is no disrespect meant for SLII, SLI, USL or U L L in the movement of titling the university, on the national front, with "UL". There is no doubt that many alumni were and are removed from the disrespect the state showed the university in the name change timeframe. I cannot imagine any SLII, SLI, USL or UL L named alumni not helping the cause. It is not our time... it is the current and future students' time to make their mark at the university. We should do what it takes, like so many other alumni of other schools do, to pull them through and help them along. Being stubborn and living in the 60s is fine when you are hanging around the old gang. When it comes time to step up to the here and now... even if you cannot understand it... back the here and now. If you ever want to have a legacy, you will not do it with those who get buried along side you... you do it by being a leader for those who come behind you. That is done by showing them respect first. They learn how to respect from the respect they are shown. We are Louisiana. We are UL. Get on board. Welcome.
What a truly great post---Damn man----things change and they have---We are indeed Louisiana and UL ---Our choice for a name after great difficulty--get on board everybody---we don't need divided force!!!!
3, I believe. 2 in the Big West in the 90's and 1 in 2005 in the Sunbelt.
Props to your Cowboys...enjoy your season tickets. From here on out your wasting your key strokes. The reasons have been made for UL not ever going to Lake Charles....problem is, you dont like the answers.....too bad.
3 football championships in the 20 odd years since the separation of football into 1A and 1AA. I think the Cowboys have won or shared around 10 SLC football championships over that same time period not to mention the post season appearances. I don't like or dislike the reasons I was just pointing out a way the Cajuns and the Cowboys could meet on a more regular basis which would be a benefit to both schools. Some just can't seem to take the suggestion in the spirit it was offered. You are taking yourself way too seriously based upon the Cajuns 20 year football record.
No we are not taking ourselves to seriously! Houston won't go to Texas State, Ark State won't go to Central Arkansas, Ohio U won't make the trip to Southern Illinois...why? Because 1A schools don't travel to 1aa schools PERIOD! Your argument is a bad one and you should drop it!
