They did not have a defensive oriented small forward. Now they do which makes them more of a complete team. Cole of course was also huge as they now have an energy guard off the bench with meaningful playoff experience. The moves Dell Demps made in January and February saved the season despite how negatively the national media rated the moves. In fact they may have saved his own job and that of his coach as well.
The moves were solid, just not spectacular. Last year we had a defensive minded SF who couldn't score, this year we had Babbit starting who doesn't defend on the perimeter very well. Now, we have two guys who can defend and put the ball in the hoop. They aren't spectacular but they are underrated solid.

He plays hard and has shown glimpses of being a solid player. He just needs to get confidence and consistency. I think, at some point in the future, he will be a solid player but he hasn't gotten "it" yet.

I am sure it was an innocent mistake. However, the Hornets now play in Charlotte and the Pelicans play in New Orleans. You may have meant the last time you went to a game was before the re-branding.

No mistake. I've never been to a Pelicans game.

Babbit only was getting minutes when guys were injured, once Cunningham was acquired and got in the flow his minutes dropped heavily. Again they have had so many different lineups due to injuries from Davis, Gordon, and Holliday.

Rivers isn't a NBA starter, which is what you need out of the 10th overall pick. I didn't like the pick then, and he proved that doubt right every time he checked in to the game. Now he has the luxury of his dad being a head coach and picking his spots. Unloading him was a brilliant and needed move.

IMO Cole was the most valuable in season pick up. They started winning the day he came on board.

He started 19 games this year. Evans was the starter there but he's not a natural 3. They needed free agency moves in order to acquire guys who are a much more natural fit there and they got it. I'd still like to see them make some good moves in the offseason and get a top 10 SF out there but that's just me.

#TakeFlight is my go-to Pels hashtag
