Exactly. Your record, assuming you make the tournament, figures into your seeding in the NCAA tourney. You get in at 15-15 and you are seeing a #1 seed first round. 25-5, you get to play a game that is at least conceivably winnable.

It is absolutely not the same, 15-15 and getting into the NCAA Tourny is not good enough. If you are going to play 3 non D1 games you better win 25 games.

Consistent play this season gets us to 25 plus wins, at worse a NIT bid and easier to recruit. It raises the profile of our program.

At some point our fans should expect better home schedules than Loyola, La College and Dillard. That is lazy and a contract filler for a coach. Kills our RPI, hurts our seeding if we get into the NIT or NCAA tournament.

To applaud wins over glorified high school teams is laughable.

What's your plan to get better home games? Because we have no money to buy Division I games. And, in state teams are not coming here. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that the Louisiana Tech series does not get renewed.

    who would you schedule instead?

If you think this question through a bit you'll see why it's so hard to schedule good teams around here. Every Sun Belt, Southland, and C-USA school in this area has the same bad OOC schedule.

With that said I'm all for having only one non D-1 school on the schedule.

Why are you using 15-15 as a record for your argument?

SLU would do a home & home maybe even 3/2.

I do not buy everyone is not willing to play us in this state. They all have similar problems. Well some coaches would rather a non div 1 win or a big payday.

As for not having money? Not being attractive enough for a home and home with decent mid majors. Just keep blaming the SBC instead of doing something for ourselves.

I agree with Cajun4life and Express in that we shouldn't pound our chest for beating non D1 schools and that we really need better OOC home games, but you know how I know our program is on the right track and progressing?.....We're discussing why our back-to-back 20 win seasons aren't good enough.

You do realize we do not have 20 wins this season. That we won 65% this year, and any more wins will be post season, a different season.

I take the wins, I am grounded in lack of quality except for LTU, GaSt. Get me 20 next season sand non div one and you have the beginning of something good.

No, they turned it down. As did UNO. Tulane and Southern Miss also will not play home and home. Your points about the home schedule is valid. But, the bottom line is, until we are willing to pay money for D-1 home games, we aren't going to get that many.

Why would coach Hardin lie to me when he says neither uno or slu will do home and home with us? He is in charge of scheduling and I do not envy him in that regard.

No one is applauding the 3 non d1 wins as impressive. That is why I started the thread by saying we clinched a d1 winning record on Saturday. I also agree that winning 25 d1 games is better than 15 due to seeding, recruiting etc.

I wonder why they don't want to?
