Default Cajun RedZone: JC DL Pryer Commits To Cajuns

The Cajuns picked up a big commitment last night in Former LSU commitment DL Benay Pryer of Kilgore Junior College.

This guy is a man. 6-6, 290 lb DE that runs a 4.8. He has the ability to be the jewel of our recruiting class, IMO.

Big, agile, athletic, constant motor. He looks really good. I would advise turning the sound off when watching the highlight video.

Does this mean Bustle is having trouble with only 1 year left on his contract?

Recruiting juniors now for the Class of 2011 is where he will really have problems. Not as much for this year's recruits

Think what you will, but Pryer had four tackles and one sack in two games this season. The potential is obviously there, but the production not so much:

I tried to word it open ended. Probably should have used the word potential rather than ability. I more meant ability as it chance to be than as in physical skills and talent.

The guy is a knucklehead, period. Physical talent but no work ethic.

I don't think we watched the same video, he got pushed around by juco linemen and in that 5 minute video he might have made 3 tackles. Further more, I would be shocked if he runs under a 5.5 forty but his size is impressive.

Then you will be shocked. The kid will play outside on the DL, and he sat out for over a year. What you are getting is an athlete with unlimited upside with size. That is something we normally don't get and he is still raw. Forget numbers, he will have plenty of time in spring to get stonger and three years to play.

Forget numbers, this kid was highly recruited coming out of high school and he has the physical tools to become a good addition. We have him for three years, so he is far from a finished product. What some don't get on this thread, is he is the type of athlete you need to compete against Troy. We just don't have enough of these type of athletes. He will be here in the spring and have plenty of time to get stronger and work on tecnique.
