Some of that has to fall on Bustle, as his offense, which is quite imaginative and aggressive, immediately regresses to a conservative mode upon achieving a 14 point lead. The conservative Defensive play could be coming at his order. _

Well, I do give credit where it is due because while we haven't necessarily shown the willingness to pin the ears back and get to the QB with blitzes and such, this team has done a much better job turning people especially in the passing game. The problem is that with the emergence of the spread option attack that many are employing, you are putting a premium of beating a specific man 1-1 to make a play because the offense has spread everyone out so much. To me, this puts more pressure on the front four to get pressure on the QB and make stops in the running game to avoid big plays.

Guys, the Cajuns blitzed almost 70 percent of the time this season. Shedding of blocks has been an issue. The defense had a short field to defend way too often this season due to poor kickoffs. Offensive inconsistencies left the defense on the field too much. The likely addition of Pryer appears to be a step in the right direction. It is far from a simple answer because there are multiple factors involved.

70%? No way. Not saying you are fabricating JP becuase I love what you do, but I will have to see all of the stats to believe this.

It's not just blitzing, it's also utilizing stunts up front. I saw very darn little of that.

Believe it if you want. Doesn't bother me. That's straight from Fouquier, looking at blitzes compared to total snaps.

Maybe it just looked as though they only blitzed about 20% of the time because they were so inept at it?

Actually, that's part right. Sometimes the players were unable to get off blocks and reach the QB. So it didn't look to be that often.

Is this a verbal commit or is he signed, sealed and delivered?

It's only a verbal right now. Cannot sign a binding national letter of intent until Dec. 16, although he won't be here until May while finishing a class in the spring.
