Lots of "potential" but there's a reason LSU lost interest. He's a knucklehead.

I'm excited about this guy. He, along with the development of Jordan Topp could be an intimidating front line. I'll give Bustle this: We always hear that the correct way to build a successful team is from the inside out. (meaning first focus on the Lines). Bustle has surely done that on offense, and I suppose the focus will be on the D-line this offseason. I do applaud that, fwiw.
I believe you. I also think one of the most critical needs we have is adding immediate size, power and speed to our DL. If this guy can come in and contribute... and maybe be a difference maker in the latter stages of our season on defense (where we've not held up well in the past couple of years)... that makes me more optimistic. A single stud on your defensive line can make a HUGE difference.
I thought I was watching a highlight video of #8 an OLB. This guy was making most of the tackles. Maybe we should be recruiting this guy?
Just based on size, Pryer will be the most physically imposing defensive lineman on the team from the second he arrives on campus. The measureables and potential are there. The other big-time offers are, too. How big of an immediate impact will he have? How will he adjust to the D1 level? How much of a motor will he have while going against better competition? While recruits are looked at based on potential, his lack of on-field production cannot be overlooked. He's apparently still very raw, but we should get a better feel for his impact in the spring. Plus he has a great name.

FYI: Pryer has one class to finish and probably won't be on campus until May.

Why is he not listed as signing with LSU on either rivals or scout.com? I was curious how many stars this guy had coming out of high school. Both sites had him listed as a 1 star recruit. Is this correct? I don't ever remember LSU signing a 1 star. Hell the LSU nation was all over the coaches when they signed 2 star Jacob Hester.
He was a pretty highly touted kid coming out of high school and LSU recruited him and made an offer, although he was certainly not considered a blue chipper. Then he didn't qualify and had to go the Juco route, going to two different Jucos. He claimed he was dead set on making it to LSU and hoped the Juco route was his ticket there. However, it turned out the kid is a knucklehead. While he's certainly big and impressive looking, his work ethic and attitude are big questions. LSU lost interest and he fell to the Cajuns. He could wind up being a great player, but a lot is going to have to change for that to happen. Again, LSU lost all interest in the kid. That is telling since the Tigers have a big need on the defensive line. Again, you may get lucky with this kid but, more than likely, your going to get your heart broken. Not to mention your head as you bang it into the wall in frustration wondering what the hell is wrong with him.
