Thread: What if Scenerio

    Default What if Scenerio

We all know that the winner of the SEC Championship game is a shoe in for the BCS Title game.

What if Texas (the other supposed shoe in) would lose? Who will get Texas' spot? Does one of the other three undeafted teams (Boise St., TCU, Cincinati) get the spot or would say Ohio State (which we all know besides USC, ESPN and other sports people love) jump those three and get in?

I think it should be TCU.

This is kind of the scenerio that got LSUA&M@BR into the BCS title game in 2007, when the number #1 and #2 teams lost in their Conference championship games.

Thoughts since we know it won't be UL?

It should be TCU, but we all know how it goes. Some way, another BCS conference school will jump 37 spots and get into the title game.

    JC,

This is what I hope happens. Bama and UF play 4 quarters and are tied. They continue to tie after each overtime period and that lasts past the date of the BCS championship game. UT loses to Nebraska. Cincinatti loses to PItt. By default BCS title game is TCU v Boise State.

Wanna bet if Texas loses Alabama and Florida play again, this time in the NC game? I'm licking my chops to see that disaster of a matchup. It would be yet another way for the BCS to prove what a bunch of jive it is.

I think UL shoud get a chance to play for a national championship. I also think UL should have been ranked in the top 25 this year. Not! Lets be true to ourselves people. In UL is a program that averages about 16,000 fans per game and that has to depend on 1-AA programs to set attendance records. In UL is a team that struggles against subpar Sunbelt teams, and that plays in a conference not very well known or respected. Why in the dickens would bowl organizers choose UL over UCLA? UCLA has a national reputation; UL does not. In the minds of UL alumnae and supporters, the university is highly acclaimed and highly thought of. But that is just simply not the case. Here in North Louisiana, the average person on the street would not know what school you are talking about when the name UL or Louisiana is mentioned. Most, and I mean most, would think you are referring to LSU. UL has a serious image problem. Louisiana schools, other than LSU, has more name recognition that UL, including LA Tech, Grambling, McNeese and Southern. The shoes UL HAS TO FILL ARE BIGGER THAN YOU THINK. Just try doing a little research!

Thank you for putting us in our place once again, we certainly needed that. There should be no reason we have any hope for the success of our program. Sometimes we need reminding.....

Don't you have something better to do, I'm sure the walmarts in South Arkansas have bunches of new Tigger stuff too buy for everyone this Christmas.

You mentioned TCU in the opening of this thread.
TCU... private school with 8400 students. 12 to 1 in the classroom. Currently ranked number 4 in the country, in football.
Incredible institution. I went there this year with my son, on two unofficial visits. Since this forum is about football... here was the main thing that I took from Coach P's office. Football is Big Business.
Yes, your scholarship is up for renewal each year. The reason why he brought that up? Beause his job is to win football games! They want every kid to succeed and will provide multiple avenues for their student-athletes to win on and off the field. The bottom line though, is... it's a business.
The coach's part of the business is measured with victories on the football field.
I thought he was brutally honest.
You can draw any comparisons you like.

Cinn. will be jumped into the national championship if Texas loses because they are in a bcs conference. I would personally like to see TCU in the championship but I doubt the bcs would allow a non bcs conference team into their glory game.

BCS= One part C Two parts BS

The sad thing is that TCu probably has a longer and more storied football tradition than Cincinnati but it just goes to show how some luck with regard to conference affiliation can benefit a team.

Not to mention that TCU would kick Cincinnati's ass.

I REALLY hope that this is one of the matchups, this would be the first time that there are 2 BCS bowl games featuring 4 undefeated teams, what a hellaciously good draw.
