_ I do not think the New Orleans Bowl can take a 6-6 SBC team when a 7-win team is available.

But that WOULD be best for the conference.

There will be precious little time to sell tickets to New Orleans, and several other bowls.

Do the Cajuns have a marketing plan in place ? Each bowl requires a marketing plan before distributing a bid (at least for teams on "our" level).

If a conference has a contract with a bowl to provide an eligible member to play in the bowl game, can it simply decide to opt out of its obligation if it feels like it? Can the MAC really get away with this even if there is a bowl eligible MAC team available?

Right now, 67 of 68 bowl openings are filled. If Hawaii and/or Army win, that would leave no spots for an at-large team.

So those two games are huge.

_ Bowling Green is one of the MAC schools that might not travel far for a bowl because the school would lose money after all the expenses due to the smaller payouts for the lesser bowls.

We can scratch Bowling Green off the staying at home list. Just heard an online interview w/ the BG head football coach. From what he was saying they are most definitely going to a bowl game wherever/whenever.
