_ Um, 0.00% possibility of a UCLA vs A&M in the texas bowl, in fact, Navy was the first team in the nation to accept their bowl bid and it was to go to the Texas Bowl. It could be A&M vs Navy, or UCLA vs Navy, but Navy will definitely be in that game. _

I am banking on a PAC 10 school like UCLA feeling too prestigious to play in a lowly GMAC or Pizza Bowl game vs. a MAC school. Could be wrong.

I highly doubt if they would turn that down. They would be crazy to do that.

Statements by the UCLA coach make it very clear that they will take any bowl offer that comes along. I think they like the idea of the GMAC bowl because it is one of the later bowls. More practice time and more exposure as it will not be competing with a lot of the other bowls for time.

I think there's a simple answer to both questions. Its a recession, and teams dont want to lose money in order to travel across the country for a bowl game that their fans (in UCLA's case) probably dont care a whole lot about.

Interesting tidbit: My sources say that Troy turned down a proposed spot in the EagleBank Bowl against UCLA.

Why would they do that, and which bowl would it be?

Which bowl tie in is the MAC looking at turning down?

What is the rule for Troy to turn down the N.O. bowl and accept another? I thought someone said that for that to happen the SBC would have to replace Troy with a 7+ win team. So does that mean if Troy opts out Mid Tenn will be in N.O., or does UL stand a chance?

_ Also, we should all be cheering for Nebraska tomorrow. If they are able to upset Texas, then the Texas Bowl will have an open slot. Then if thats the last spot, and its us or UCLA, at least we have a major regional advantage and had dialouge with em last year about a bowl slot. Cmon lord, all I want for Christmas is a bowl bid, and a Sony falt screen, and my foundation fixed. Not too much to ask. _
