Its all but official. Notre Dame staying in South Bend for Christmas. It looks like Its down to Us and UCLA if Hawaii loses. ULM firiing their coach makes them about as attractive as a rabies shot. And its looking like Little Ceasers Bowl in Detroit. UCLA do you really wanna go to Detroit? Take a load off, sit this one out, help out the little guy for once. Id rather a bowl then none at all.

Also, we should all be cheering for Nebraska tomorrow. If they are able to upset Texas, then the Texas Bowl will have an open slot. Then if thats the last spot, and its us or UCLA, at least we have a major regional advantage and had dialouge with em last year about a bowl slot. Cmon lord, all I want for Christmas is a bowl bid, and a Sony falt screen, and my foundation fixed. Not too much to ask.
Texas A&M is slotted for the Texas Bowl. Both the city of Houston and a game vs. A&M would be attractive to UCLA. A game vs. Central Michigan in Detroit would not. I would rather see MT go to that game and leave the GMAC game open to us or UCLA. MT is located about equidistance to both bowls, so Detroit should not be a problem for them. I don't see UCLA going to Mobile either to play a CMU. But, I am probably wrong, just hoping.
Statements by the UCLA coach make it very clear that they will take any bowl offer that comes along. I think they like the idea of the GMAC bowl because it is one of the later bowls. More practice time and more exposure as it will not be competing with a lot of the other bowls for time.
I'm hearing that the MAC is likely to turn down a bowl bid. That would leave two openings with the Cajuns, UCLA and ULM available, granted Hawaii falls to Wisconsin and Army loses next week to Navy.

The MAC is likely going to lose money with at least a few of its bowl games and probably can't afford it. Not sure which team would be out. Have to wait until the weekend.

Interesting tidbit: My sources say that Troy turned down a proposed spot in the EagleBank Bowl against UCLA.
I know I shouldn't read into all this but I can't help myself. I'm gonna end up w/ another broken heart...
