    Default New Coach

I heard this weekend that Bustle is out and a offer has been made to Ed Orgeron with Tennessee. Has anybody heard this to?

tennessee pays him a ton of money; i'd be surprised it the university would pay him enuff to get him to leave the vols.

also, tho' a great recruiter, he ain't much of a coach.

Coach O is a great recruiter who talks a good game. My Ole Miss buds were in love with him the first couple of years. However, he had huge problems on gameday...especially with clock management. They eventually got tired of losing close games.

Right now Ole Miss is playing with his players, so you can see he upgraded the talent there. Our biggest problem right now is lack of talent. This seems like a good fit, but I am worried about Conference play. Most of our winnable games are close affairs. We need a coach who gets the little thing right to swing these games in our favor. I'm not sure if Coach O is the right man for these types of games.

Let me go on record as saying that I am not someone who thinks Ricky should go, I am please on what he has done to get us to this point and would like him to stay.

But if I had to put my .02 in for a new coach, I would vote for Tyrone Nix of Ole Miss.

Young, agressive Defensive minded coach, very familiar with recruiting LA/MS players from his time in USM, familiar with UL from his playing days at USM and has consistantly improved the teams he was with over his coaching career! Again, not saying we should let Bustle go, but if we were to start a list Nix would be on the top of mine.

What good would that do for recruiting? As a former player, would you have come to a school where the head coach was in his last year of a contract and it looked like he was out a year later?

Just looking for an opinion from someone who has been through the recruiting process.

Heard from who? An alligator at the swamp? This seems like a highly specious, at best.
