Brad McGuire was one of three Cajuns quarterbacks to pass for 100-plus yards Saturday night vs. Troy. Louisiana outgained Troy 563-513 of which 415 yards came through the air.

Louisiana's Ragin' Cajuns football team overcame a 24-0 deficit by scoring 25 unanswered points, but a 67 yard completion on the final play of the third quarter took Troy out the shadow of its own end zone and led to a string of 17 unanswered points for the Trojans which lifted them to a 48-31 victory Saturday night at Cajun Field.

The Trojans (9-3, 8-0 Sun Belt) kicked a field goal to reclaim the lead for good with 13:01 remaining.

The Trojans then turned around the field position on the Cajuns - holding them to three-and-out on the next two drives - and scored touchdowns on the next two possessions to open a 41-25 lead by the 4:47 mark.

The Cajuns (6-6, 4-4 Sun Belt) were able to put up 415 yards passing on the Troy defense and outgained the Trojans in total offense 563-513.

UL saw three quarterbacks pass for 100 yards - Chris Masson (16-of-25, 187 yards), Brad McGuire (9-of-17, 119 yards) and Blaine Gautier (5-of-8, 109 yards).

Masson completed 16 passes - before being injured early in the third quarter - to cap off his season total for completions at 222. Masson was only two passes shy of tying the single season record of 224 set by Jon Van Cleave in 2001.

Troy was guided by Levi Brown's 293 yard passing with three TD passes and Shawn Southward's 152 yards rushing and two TD scores.

With 12,245 in attendance, UL increased its 2009 attendance figure to 111,998 - the most since the 1988 season.

Brad McGuire completed a 91-yard touchdown pass to Ladarius Green with 1:15 left in the third quarter. It was the third longest completion in UL history and allowed the Cajuns to take their first lead of the contest at 25-24.

Louisiana got a defensive stop on the ensuing possession, but stalled at its own 47-yard line and was forced to punt.

On the very next play, with Troy backed up at its own six-yard line, Brown fired a 67 yard completion to Jerrel Jernigan that would swing the momentum back to the visitors.

The loss prevented the Cajuns from picking up their seventh win. The victory was the Trojans' fourth straight in the series.

Troy's Courtland Fuller picked off the first pass of his career and returned it 48 yards to the Cajuns' 3-yard line on the first drive of the game. The very next play Southward waltzed into the end zone untouched to put the Trojans up 7-0 with 12:50 left in the first quarter.

Brown hit Jason Bruce on a 17-yard pass down the middle to cap off an eight-play, 56-yard drive that took 2:21 off the clock. That play put the Trojans up 14-0 with 3:49 left in the first quarter.

Michael Taylor added on to the Trojan lead in the second quarter when he kicked a 31-yard field goal to put Troy up 17-0 with 14:15 left.

Fuller picked up his second turnover of the game when McGuire fumbled the ball on the Cajun's 27-yard line. Two plays later Southward picked up his second touchdown of the game with a 23-yard run that put the Trojans up 24-0 with 12:07 left in the second quarter.

UL put its first points of the game with a 6-yard run by McGuire. That capped off a 12-play, 82-yard drive with 5:36 left on the clock.

The Cajuns made a late push in the first half to get within two scores at 24-13.

Masson hit Luke Aubrey with a 57-yard catch-and-run. That play pulled the Cajuns to within 24-13 with 4:30 left in the second quarter. The catch was the longest of Aubrey's career and it was the team's longest pass play of the season at that point in the game.

The Cajuns pulled to within five points after a 15-play, 78-yard drive that took 6:12 off the clock in the third quarter. McGuire, playing for an injured Masson, hit Green on a 1-yard pass play to pull the Cajuns to within 24-19.
