Yes, the location of Troy and South Alabama make sense.

Do any of you actually think that we deserve to go to a bowl game? I'd love to see the Cajuns get into a game, but in reality I know that there are teams that are not bowl eligible that would beat us by 20+ points.
There are teams that are getting into bowl games that do not deserve to get in. My answer to all of this is either go to a playoff system that incorporates the bowl games thus eliminating several teams, or cut the number of bowls down to about 20. That would make it the top 40 teams in the country. Then bowls would be reserved for teams that really deserve to play in the post season.
So how do the planets line up for us to get to the show-------Who has to do What???????
Hawaii and Army to lose to keep it at 71 eligible teams for 68 openings.
Then for Marshall, Notre Dame and UCLA to turn down bowl invites, which probably wont but could happen with coaching changes at Marshall and ND. That would leave two openings. Or just ND and UCLA turn down bowls, leaving one spot for the Cajuns or ULM.
Or for the GMAC Bowl to simply pick the Cajuns.
A long shot, at best.

Is it possible that Troy would take an invite to play in its home state of Alabama if the GMAC Bowl would invite them and open up the New Orleans Bowl. In this case I would think UL stands a good chance of an invite to New Orleans esp. after what Shreveport did to us last year.
I fear that UL playing for a 7th win and possible bowl invite, yet having only 12,000 in attendance, would not be as attractive a bowl candidate with 6 wins because of the likelihood of poor attendance, by (1) UL's poor following and (2) non-recognition by the local fans.
