I am really surprised that I have not heard anybody mention about the official letting Marlin Miller trip over him, that is inexcusable and if there are no sanctions or anything put on that clown, I am going to have a real problem with it, and its not just because it was a UL player, any player, there is no excuse for it. That crew has been horrible for a few years now. Does anybody have any word on Marlin?

Any school that moves up from 1AA to 1A recieves a partial APR exemption, as I understand it. The major issue with schools like Troy, Moanroe and stAte are that they can have players and/or coaches leave early, and nothing happens to their APR, while, if the same thing happend to US, WE get penalized. (If someone wishes to clarify or correct what I've written here, please do, since I don't know all the details.)

Guaranteed, no illegal formation penalty on the halfback pass, we really might have won the game. Have some pride. Even Middle couldnt do what we did. With the advantages Troy has, no one can stand up to em. But we did. They showed that with their personal foul penalties how classless they are. The Sun Belt should step in and do something about that.

Our Boys played with tremendous heart. Im thankful for these boys. They made this day special, regardless of loss or win. I made it a point, even though it was my wedding day to come out on Senior Day and cheer for my alma mater. Decked out in a tux, wife in wedding gown, we made it, late, but we made it. This team still deserves a bowl. Regardless of what some of the negative nellies say. To deny this team, who lost bonafied once in a lifetime offensive players and still win 6 games, what a group. The predictions at the beginning of the season were bleak, but we matched last season. That says alot about our boys. Heart. Grit. Determination. Be proud to be a cajun. _
I loved your post...wow you came out on your wedding day. You should def. get the fan of the year award at Fan Day next year. That is above and beyond the call of duty!!!

Too bad I wasn't coaching the CAJUNS last night, because that __'N official would've been following Marlin to the hospital WITH A BROKEN F#%KIN' NOSE!!!

One of the main ones was a guy who wasnt playing last night for... fighting. That program is nothing but thugs, its a shame that a program that good, I can have no respect for. They showed a glimpse of this going back to last year if you will remember when they had the kicker who looked like he was 12 years old kicking and throwing his helmet all around after the New Orleans Bowl, like I said, no respect for this program or anybody directly associated inside the program that has anything to say in it, there were administrators right there next to them watching the whole thing. _
Sorry, but you have NO IDEA what you are talking about! You don't have to like or respect Troy, but you should get your facts together.

I sat right next to the UL student section and saw how they treated the players and fans from Troy, until there were very few left. Pointing fingers at our players, calling out their numbers and names and getting their attention and then calling them names and antagonizing them showed an extreme lack of class. I watched as our players reacted and was a bit disheartened by their behavior. However, I think that they had taken all that they could. BTW, the player you speak of above was reprimanded by his 'loss of composure' and I can assure you it won't happen again. The UL students seemed "really tough" when they sat in the stands, in their drunken stupors and yelled jabs and barbs at the Troy bench, that, my friend, was classless.

There were no "administrators" standing there. Our chancellor and staff were not even present at the game. We had an untimely death within our administration family and they were in Troy taken care of issues much more important than trying to help keep a football player from letting a group of classless students from the opposing team prompt him into doing something really dumb!

As for the APR issue, this is merely a program for those universities that have a certain number % of students that apply for federal financial aid due to economic difficulties. Has anyone on this board looked at the APR ratings in the Sun Belt? Which programs consistently achieve or exceed the minimum standards required by the NCAA? Here, educate yourself http://www.ncaa.org/wps/ncaa?key=/nc..._apr_data.html

Notice that Troy has an APR of 945 in football, UL 916! So, why is it that our football players are smarter, more talented, and simply better than yours, yet you point to this system and blame it for your misfortune.

I suggest that you begin to look in your own closet and determine where the problems are, and not pointing your finger at others. Decide what it is that you need to do, as a program, to get better players, but quit comparing your woes against those who continue to experience success through hard work and building a program WELL WITHIN THE RULES set forth by the NCAA.

You team played great, why don't some of you try and recognize that. They were just beaten by a better team, JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER TEAM IN THE SUN BELT THIS YEAR!!

As far as the fighting thing goes, I am sorry for taking your players at there word, he personally told me he was suspended for fighting. The guy was charged with a FELONY and then was reduced to a misdemeanor for CARRYING A GUN ON HIGH SCHOOL GROUNDS! Got kicked off from Oklahoma so you said, well he looks thug enough to play for Troy so let him. Like I said, full of thugs, most teams shy away from things like that on peoples record but Troy, I guess attracts them. Oh yea, check out his youtube video, "Oklahoma's Josh Jarboe Raps It Up ... TheWizofOdds.com" (Do not listen around kids, explicit language). So congratulations you trade class and decency for wins, I guess that is cool, it just depends on where your priorities are. Okay, and I stand corrected on the administrators, they were older men in suits down on the sideline, I guess they were just boosters. And they were sick of it huh? Sick of it in the 1st quarter? and the band? they were there maybe five minutes? you are so clueless... Have you ever been to another student section? I personally have heard much, much worse on even SBC sidelines. So I will say this, I would much rather have the young men UL has and go 6-6 then have the disgrace to the university guys representing my university, you can come back with whatever comment you want but bottom line is everybody sees it, this is not just a one time thing for your guys. You, I am sure you are a real nice guy who is passionate about your team, and its the people for you, I feel sorry for. For the record, I drank none last night though, so I was not in the "drunken stupors" you speak of.

Can you give us some ACT scores of the 2 schools or better their athletes' ACT------When it comes down to the bottom line one must factor in the HS of the graduating athlete, the GPA score, their ACT, and the curriculum that they choose at the school----I could set up a guy on the road to eligibility with no problems if I could get them in school-----If they are props or grey shirts or whatever they could play on Saturday night---and if we loose a few --the hell with the APR----This stinks and should be outlawed by the Belt immediately!!!!!!

To answer your question, sure, I could probably get that information, but I will let you do that research.

It was the APR that was discussed and used by this forum that UL lost because of the APR program. Then I prove to you that Troy's APR is better than UL's and you want another program to compare. I am also positive that the NCAA sets minimum requirements for SAT/ACT results, which, if an istitution choose not adhere to, and are caught, then they pay the price. If you are now accusing Troy of changing or hiding SAT/ACT scores, I suggest you check yourself prior to 'seriously' documenting your accusations.

We will do our best to represent the Sun Belt as champions in whatever bowl game we have earned, on the field and in the classrooms. ALL within the rules and regulations of the NCAA.

    Good day mate.

I don't care what HE told you, that is not the reason he was suspended. Had he been suspended for fighting he would not have been asked to make the trip and be on the sidelines to watch his teammates participate. You see, this is part of the discipline process utilized at Troy. Keep you stuff together and you can participate with others, who also have their stuff together, and compete. Something every athlete wants to do (don't know if you have any concept of that). However, being a college athlete means more than just "playing the game", it is about paying the price to have the privilege to play.

Don't use your brush to paint me (or anyone else within the Troy program) as those that approve of the video, or the actions this young man participated in when he was previously somewhere else. Assuming this will only make you look ignorant and uninformed. Here is a bit about him that you obviously don't know. The ONLY REASON he is at Troy is because Coach Blakeney contacted the head coach at Oklahoma and questioned him about his character and what type of kid he "really" is. Did he make some bonehead, idiotic mistakes as a 16 or 17 year old kid? Absolutely (didn't you). But YOU take what you read, without looking inside (thus giving you zero insight) and believe it.

Here's a question for you, "what is wrong with trying to help a young athlete, who is academically challenged, get his/her school work in order by attending a JUCO, or grey shirting, so that they can then blend in athletics into the scholastic process, see if they can balance college athletics with academics and build for their future? There is no, ZERO, binding agreement when athletes are placed in JUCOs. Athletes have the right to go to any 4-year school they want after one or two years of junior college. The fact that many decided to go back to those schools who originally recruited them shows a bit of "class" or "commitment" or "loyalty" doesn't it? Wouldn't you agree that this is what makes good, decent human beings, not to mention students?

So espouse your opinions, spew your dislike, or call someone a 'reject', I am only asking that when you accuse someone of something, do your research, learn a few of the facts before you BLAST OFF into outer space with some random opinion, or not.

Rage on big fella (since you assumed I was a "guy" I will assume that you are a "guy").. DA

Congratulations. Your team has a strong APR showing this year.

You've benefited from the NCAA programs designed to benefit such resource deficient schools as yours.

That allows you to take some chances on athletes that couldn't grade in to Auburn or Alabama and if they don't pan out, meh. You won't lose a scholarship for it.

We can't afford to take those chances because according to the same NCAA rules, we'd be the one who lose a scholarship.

So spare us the "playing by the rules" line. We're not on a level playing field.

If i'm not mistaken... ULL had quite a few personal foul penalties. don't start being negative because your team lost. let's have class and not bash one another's team for personal fouls. they happen and it's part of football.
