Why are most here acting like we have been a 7-8 win program through our long history. We have never been. We have had a good year here and there. Now we have had a little success and a foundation is being built and most want to destroy it because they think we should win more but none of us are coaches. We were picked 6th and to win 4-5 games. We did better than that. We were up and down. Just like we were when we were breaking in Desormeaux, Fenroy and those other guys. The schedule will be tougher but we will be improved and add Robert Walker to the mix. It is just a game. Enjoy it and don't worry about everyone else. As fans we do that a lot. And we miss what have right under our nose.

_ My question is this...do you believe we will win more than 6 games next year? Before you answer remember next years schedule is much tougher with 0 gimmee wins like Southern. We go to georgia, ole miss, and Ohio who plays for the MAC title on the road and Ok state at home. I do not think 6 wins is feasible so do you let Bustle finish off his contract when you dont believe he can get to the 7+ win mark or do you make a change now?

My thinking is Bustle has done a great job of getting us to 6 wins but i think that is his peak. With that said I do not believe that it is all on the field coaching that is causing this plateau. I do not believe he is recruiting the type of kids that will take us further than 6 wins. And you don't have to re ruit thugs like Troy to get these playmakers bc Middle does it. He has 8 years to get playmakers in here and frankly Green is our only big time playmaker.

With all that said I don't see a change being made simply bc of the way basketball was handled. I guess we will just have to wait till next year!

This post is pretty much 100% aligned with my thinking. I love Rickey Bustle as a person. He did a great job resurrecting us from a complete dumpster fire to a team that is, for the most part, at least competitive year in and year out. He's recruited some good players and we've had some good years. But I think we've reached the point where what we see is what we're going to get. He's had a few senior classes all the way through their careers now, so this is 100% HIS program, and his program is .500 football. Every year, we get trounced by a couple BCS schools, do well against the mid-major or two that we play, and finish 3rd or 4th in conference because we lose one or two that we have no business losing.

I know the argument of "be careful what you wish for," because as a fan of both the Cajuns and Saints through the 90's, I'm very familiar with the idea of "what I'd give to win half our games." But it's time for us to roll the dice again. We've got some talented pieces, so Rickey is FAR from leaving the cupboard bare, but we've peaked as a program under Bustle.

Exactly it is just a forum of opinions. I just happen not to see eye to eye with you. You do care that is why you are here. I love the cajuns so do you. What we think does matter even if we differ on how they should happen. That is why we are blessed to live in America. I'm not ready for change you are. That is black and white. How to win more games now that has many shades of gray.

Our 7th win should have come against FIU or FAU.

We're a physically better team than both, but our playcalling killed us in those games.

This team WAS capable of winning 8 games this year.

Next year the schedule is crazy, but if you lose all 4 of those money games and one sunbelt.... you're 7-5. We honestly should be beating every team in the Sunbelt.

No hard feeling at all...a hand shake would be perfect if possible.

No one has every answer are the ncaa would be filled with undefeated teams but coaches or not always the only people who know talent!

I feel most Bustle supporters are worried that if a change is made that we will fall back to below 500. This might not be what your thinking but it is time to take a chance and move thiz progrM to the next level. Without a change i believe you will lose more fans and lead the progrAm further away from a break out year. The time is perfect for a change bc there are a lot of great candidates on the market.

Lets roll the dice!
