Exactly, we're so deep we're not even punishing the receivers when they catch it over the middle. Its often hard to stop a perfect throw on timing, but you have to make them pay after the catch. The db trailing the receiver or the linebacker underneath made tackle on virtually every one of these. The safeties didn't arrive until the receiver had the ball and was on the ground.
I was impressed with the way Blaine Gauthier came in and took control of the offense. Would like to see what he and Rob Walker could do in the backfield.
I felt bad for number 18 for Troy, tore his ACL during his last regular season game. He won't get to play in the bowl game; he sat there and cried for a good while before he was carted off.
When we are down by 9 and running on a 3rd and 4 I'm done. Period. I was scratching my head on a lot of the offensive play calling.

For us to have that level of success, we would have to relax admission standards to take in everyone with a diploma, GED, or coupon from the local grocery store and somehow be exempt from the APR and all its mid major hatred, is the reason why Troy is where they are at. They had the better players. Most of the players are JUCO's and Transfers from BCS schools. Personally, if winning means having to recruit players like Troy has, I'd just assume stay home. The way Troy acts on the field reminds me of prison football. But thank god the refs made sure most of the personal fouls went both ways and didnt make Troy feel self concious. Change their name from Trojans, to Mean Machine. Blatant Sun Belt official bias is getting more and more evident. They wanted a 10 win team, they got one. Just like against ULM, they wanted a 3rd team with 7 wins, too bad that didnt go as planned, so sorry and all. Wright Waters is getting a nasty, rant filled email in a few minutes. Persons I feel sorry for is our players, who played by the rules, did well on the ACT, and didnt act like a prison football team. Last four out and nowhere to go, our boys deserve better.
Here is the email I sent to Don Lucas, coordinator of Football officials
"You know there is only so much one can take before they reach the breaking point. Ive hit that. The group of Sun Belt officials you have sent the past two weeks to Cajun Field have been the biggest group of jackleg officials I have ever seen, and Ive seen SEC football so I know a thing or two about jackleg officiating. The blatantly bad, bad calls your officials have made the past two weeks are just inexcusable. Did you review the punt from last week were it allegedly hit Lance Kelley, but in actuality bounced 3 feet away from him? Because if you did and you agreed with the officials who made the call, resign. Your worthless to this conference. Your officials are worthless to this conference. Your just lucky, oh so lucky, this isnt on national tv cause your crews would be crucified by the national media. Thank god for that one. Do me a favor, next season, instead of sending a ref crew, go to the Audobon Zoo, find some monkeys, slap a striped shirt on them and send em over, we will not know the difference. You can even send a zebra if you dont wanna spring for striped shirts. If every penalty has to be a discussion, even when its as simple and plain as day as can be, this shows that sun belt officials have an agenda. They have been told what to do, how to call the game, and who the calls should benefit. Again I say, this isnt SEC football. Troy isnt going to a BCS bowl. ULM isnt going to a BCS bowl. Why try and cheat for them? Why blantantly have bias against UL? What did we do wrong? Should we sacrifice a lamb at the altar to appease you oh sun belt official god? I dont want to get into ritualistic killings just to get honest officiating, but I will. Bottom line is, your crew of officials, is substandard and that is a direct reflection on you. Have fun this upcoming week, and when you review the tape of Levi Brown being 2 yards beyond the line of scrimmage before he threw the ball, try not to laugh, have some respect. "
Our maybe our conference has to level the playing field and put in their own standards to eliminate this joke of an exemption from the APR which allows Troy to over sign every year and not have to have any accountability for or worry about any consequences for academic performance.
Ummmm.... we were trounced by FAU and MT... lost to FIU... and we narrowly beat WKU, NT and ASU. We need to stop worrying about Troy and their APR gift. They are in a "resource limited" area of Alabama. We are not.
UL is nowhere near what UL can do in football. There is no way on this green earth that the SBC will inflict any wounds on Troy... and I do not blame them. They need to punish UL, if there are ways to punish a school. UL is the best member of the SBC and has done absolutely nothing. We are the only football program that has been D1A since the inception of D1A. We are not anywhere near our potential... and we do not need to drag Troy down in order to lift ourselves up.
There are means by which a solid coach can take academically better athletes and overcome any imbalance in raw athleticism... with intelligent athleticism. We are our own problem... and I have already seen this morning... again... why we thrive to live in low places. I see posts of perpetual love for 6-6. APR is not our only issue at UL. We have a dense fanbase who would rather show manlove for coaching staffs, than grow a pair and demand better.
We have some morons on here... that if UL is picked last in the SBC in football next year... with a projected 1-11 season... and we end up 3-9... they would rally around it and say "look what we did... we beat the projections... again!"
True. I'm not trying to use the APR as an excuse for the poor performance. In fact, the performance last night makes the losses at FIU and against FAU and even MT that much more unacceptable. Having acknowledged that, I just think it is unacceptable that everyone is not playing the game by the same rules. Not having to worry about the APR is a huge advantage to those schools in that they can take chances on kids. All they have to worry about is keeping them eligible during the season. If they do not make progress or flunk out of or leave school the next semester they don't have to worry about suffering consequences such as loss of scholarships. They just go out and get another stud athlete / marginal student to replace him. It does give those teams and edge that they might not have otherwise.
