Billy Kennedy of Murray State ---A Holy Cross NO guy that is a former boxer and has the experience to make it happen!!!!! think that he took S'Eastern to the show!!!!!!
Evans is in no man's land after he took a long leave of absence with no details disclosed. The university had to fire him and then he sued them for his contract money. Yeah, that's a guy I want. He won but he's also a head case and has obviously had some sort of meltdown. No thanks.
Yeah I know he's had his issues post UL. Always wished we could have kept the guy though.

Brad Boyd and J. Kelly Hall as his top assistant...
Good Afternoon all,
I have changed my name to protect the innocent, was once close to the action in that I had seats courtside....was close to the program in that several coaches became my friends....was a true "BLUE" Cajun fan and still am....very Blue right now!
Robert Lee-is one hell of a guy, honest, true, and really a great example for the Players as to what a Man should be. As far as coaching, he is a great assistant in that he brings alot to the table and can really recruit, as far as X's and O's, I'm not really impressed. That being said, the program is not any better off today, than 3 years ago, except that our APR is sitting very pretty. And many of you remember the words of Mr. Walker saying if he was let go, too many boys would leave and thoroughly screw up the APR...well the time has come!
To those singing praises to former players here including Brad Boyd, he is not the answer, no coaching experience(except AAU)no High school coaching, no college coaching-he's not the answer-no offense to the young man-fantastic player-but so was Clyde Drexler. If he wants an assistant spot, and work up the coaching ladder, I say give him the 3rd spot and let him work, and maybe one day he can be the coach.
I have several names in mind-some that will probably spark controversey-but before i go there let me clarify 2 things. UL has to decide they are going to be a stepping stone University-give every head coach a 5 year contract with a 2 year extension already in it-that the school gets to extend if they necessary. If not, they opt out, or tell the coach to find another job....this way the coach knows going in you have 5 years to win and hang around but they want me gone after that. Pressure is on, and expectations are set!
Now that being said here are several names I have in mind:
Andre Lafleur-Assistant at UCONN-instumental in all facets under Calhoun
Mark Gottfried-Great coach-good tract record-wasn't all Bama needed him to be-But a great coach
Melvin Watkins-proven winner at 2 Universities (Charlotte & Texas A & M)Head Assistant under Anderson at Missouri
Billy Gillespie-wants back in to coaching-proven winner-wont stay long as he will become a commdity quick-and everyone deserves a second chance!
Bobby Champagne-left the UL program as an assistant-proven winner at North Alabama-local ties-he might be a stretch-good man and good for this job
Dennis Felton-A leader of young men-proven winner-especially in the SunBelt and a stand up Gentlemen.
Russell Springmann-Assistant at Texas under Barnes-Knows the area and has produced winners for many years-one of the Top Assistant Coaches in the Country
I am not saying any one of these needs to be the coach, all I'm saying is the coach needs to be PROVEN & realize we don't want him here long...win and get out-move on! Years ago programs such as Marshall, Tulsa, Western Kentucky, Nevada-all had this working for them-proven stepping stone jobs-win and move on too bigger, greener pastures. My idea of UL would be a new coach every 5-7 years, moving on to bigger schools. I realize this idea is not new-not any different and we all want to win-however, what needs to change is the leadership of the University needs to set the precedent-EXPECTATIONS-are a must and your clock is ticking!
I welcome all feedback and hope all have a great evening!

I agree. We have enough selling points of this program to bring in a highly qualified coach who has done it before and will do it again. The list you mention has some high profile names and others that I haven't heard of. However, I would certainly like to see the university make the move now. They don't have to hire anybody new right now but at least not keep Lee waiting and wondering any longer. I think we can all agree that the writing is on the wall in big bright lettering for him to read. Let's just do it now and have time to make a logical and quantitative decision
