Darn...I'm headed to BR to jump off....naw, 4-2 is still respectable, and I don't live in Lake Charles. Life is good.

I don't know about winning the tournament but I agree that the team still commits too many turnovers. That and too many missed free throws are what kept tonight's game from being a blowout. The turnovers are why Devonta Walker lost his starting spot to Bryce Washington. I expect the team is simply in a free throw slump as they are around 70% on the year. Turnovers should still not be this high this late in the year. Now they were somewhat effective in breaking the press tonight as Register got a couple of his early threes after the press was broken and Shawn got some inside baskets in the second half when the press was broken. Let's hope that continues and the turnover no. comes down. Defense is heading in the right direction. If turnovers do as well, they may finish on a little run.

    Conference Standings

    1.ULM 12-4
    1.GA Southern 12-4
    1.GA State 12-4
    4.Louisiana 10-7
    5.UT-Arlington 9-7

We have a bye next Thursday. The we host Georgia Southern Saturday night. We need to win this game to stay in 4th place to receive a bye in the conference tournament.
    Remaining schedule:
Saturday, Feb. 28 GA Southern - Cajundome
Thursday, Mar. 5 UALR - Cajundome
Saturday, Mar. 7 Arkansas St. - Jonesboro

I don't know what we've been averaging, but from the games I've attended it's about 3,500.
It would be nice to have 4,500 or more for next Saturday.

It's as if the signal goes over the internet and the computer has to buffer every 30 seconds; thus, the dead air.

Guard play is crucial. They are still committing too many turnovers for this point in the season. One would think Kasey would be playing a little better. He is a junior and this is his third year in the program.

If they eliminate that, then we win the tourney.

Kasey and Wright did have too many turnovers. However, the three main guards (Shepherd, Register and Wright) all hit double figures last night. When that happens the Cajuns have a great shot to win.

Watched LTU R on that American channel that Cox carries, saw Fox Sport 1 WKU vs Middle that Cox carries. So someone tell me again about the reason we cannot get on tv is our contract with ESPN.

Let me address the issues with the broadcast on Saturday.

Beginning with football this year, we quit using telephone lines because, well, it sounded like we were broadcasting over the telephone.

We now use what most schools in the country are using...ethernet. It gives you a studio quality signal without the phone.

We also have two backup plans: One is an air card (Verizon) that we can use instead of ethernet if we go somewhere and ethernet is not working. And, we have the ability to use a phone line if #1 and #2 should fail. (As an old boss of mine used to say, "just get it on the air buddy.)

Had I known the ethernet was cutting out, I could have switched to the air card during a commercial break. But I was never informed. That's OUR fault. Our producer should have been in touch.

For those who are suggesting the quality of the broadcasts has not improved, you haven't been listening very closely.

As I said, my not being made aware was the issue. After discussions with our producers that should not happen again.

Also, remember we are broadcasting four different sports at this time. We will continue to use phone lines for most women's basketball, softball and also baseball when there is a conflict with men's basketball. Once hoops is over, we'll use the new technology for baseball.

Most of you have my email address. If you hear something, shoot an email to me. That isn't your job, but it can help.

    Thanks.
