Thread: The Real UL

  1. UL Football The Real UL

Grant Fleming found himself exactly where UL needed him to be Saturday during the most critical moment.

The junior linebacker recovered a muffed punt by UL Monroe's Luther Ambrose with 1:26 left to help secure a 21-17 win on a rainy night before 8,689 at Cajun Field.

With the victory, the Ragin' Cajuns (6-5, 4-3 Sun Belt) reached the six-win mark for the fourth time in five years and snapped a three-game losing streak at home to ULM (6-5, 5-2).

"It was a great play by everyone on our punt team," said Fleming, a St. Thomas More grad. "I just happened to be in the right place at the right time."

Has anyone noticed the picture of the official that is in the foreground of the team's photo in this article?
Is he feeling ill after that game?
If so, I wonder why? Never mind...I know why.

It was great seeing everyone, too. I had a hard time recognizing anyone at the game. We all looked the same in our poncheauxes. LOL (I love it when I laugh at my own jokes!)

It would be nice to know you can go play for something ... to have some heritage for what you would put up for this game,” quarterback Trey Revell said. “It’s worthy of a trophy.”

One of Revell’s teammates happened to bring up the greatest argument of all between these two schools: the sacred possession of the title, “The University of Louisiana.”
“Whatever they want to call themselves,” said Revell, who did not take the bait. “That’s cool.”

But then the junior quarterback changed his tune.

“That would be huge — the University of Louisiana title is worthy to have,” Revell said. “It wouldn’t bother anybody. It’s a good little prize.”

Well, it could bother some — like the loser.

To the victor goes the spoils.

    He said it.

I expect nothing short of a one year moratorium on the constant complaints about our use of UL from the WarTarps' to the Sunbelt, NCAA, ESPN, CSI Miami, etc.

Good luck with that one. You've got a better chance of winning the powerball.
