Highlights:
Ladarius Green looked fantastic in his first game back gaining over 100+ yards on 7 catches
Chris Masson looked very confident throwing the ball and making plays
Hudson finally took shots calling pass plays down field and going for homerun ball (wide recievers just struggled making the catches) I think the wetness of the ball might have a factor in this and if we do this against Troy we should have better success. Only one of Masson's deep throws should have been picked off but was dropped.
The offensive Line was much improved and picked up the blitzes better than last game.
The defense played determined and with alot of spirit and never seemed to quit or give up when they got behind. Didnt let momentum go sour.
Lows of the game:
Sunbelt officiating was really trying to screw us making stupid penalties (fair catch zone infraction when player muffed the punt, pass interference on tipped ball or bad pass, said a player touched the ball on a punt when no players on either team reacted to that or officiating crew, even when reviewed the play stood)
Run defense still struggling to stop big runs and gaping holes on the line
overall we won the turnover battle, kept penalties and stupid mistakes at a minimum and i thought we honestly out played ULM. im satisfied with the performance and i think if we keep taking shots down field it will work against troy they just have to catch the ball.
The guys have to play like there is nothing to lose, cause if they execute the big plays and defense has a few good stands against Troy's offensive weapons we can pull off the upset. but we have to be AGGRESSIVE against this team.
